The room is 11.3 square meters, with a window facing the green and silent courtyard. The room's unfurnished but in case it's needed I can support in finding some temporary furniture, for example a mattress and some shelves. In the pictures there is an older arrangement, a queen-sized bed fits also next right to the door, allowing more space next to the window. I lived in the room for two and an half years, and it's relatively small but it's well cut so it leaves quite some room for playing around with furniture. I was even able to do yoga in the room :)
The apartment has a bathroom with bathtub, a very functional kitchen with dishwasher and washing machine and a small table to eat, a storage room, a cellar, and a courtyard for bikes.
The location is great, just a cat jump away from the beautiful channel and the food market in Maybachufer, 1 minute from multiple supermarkets, and 8 walking minutes away from the U8 and U7. If you know the area no need to say but the neighbourhood is very cute. Our street is relatively quiet, since there are only a couple of bars and limited car traffic.
Tempelhofer Feld and Hasenheide are also very close.
In the apartment we are currently 3, Christian, Sebastian and I. Christian is moving out in December so we are looking for a third flatmate.
Sebastian is moving out in one or two months with his partner, while I (Cate, she) am staying for longer. :)
Sebastian, from Austria, likes to play around with bikes, builds fancy wood furniture (a few super nice handworks from him stay in the apartment), works as an architect and makes great Spritz.
I am currently finishing my master's in climate sciences and lohn-work part-time in a research institute, originally I come from Italy. I am currently very much into the live music scene in Berlin, and you can find me dancing in small jazzy and experimental concerts. I love different cultures, coffee, aerial acrobatics, talking about politics, feelings and how a better word is possible with friends. I eat mostly vegan and I would be open to rethinking sharing food if we have similar diets, for example by getting a solawi veggie basket :) I have a small beamer which can be used to watch stuff together.
Sebastian and I both like to cook, but we like to eat even more. We enjoy to have friends and visits in the apartment, mostly in the weekends, and when we invite more people we tell each other in advance. We like to party rather outside. Of course it's always okay to close the door, rest, and have time for yourself, we are respectful of each other's privacy.
We hang out when our Berlin schedules have a sudden or planned match, for example to go to manifestations, to a späti or bar with friends and partners, in summer to festivals and the Feld, or sometimes bouldering.
Since we have no living room, we put quite often when the weather is nice a large table in the pedestrian way and use it as a own terrace for eating and sharing with friends:)
We value open communication, care, tolerance, and like to help each other and try to be respectful of each other's needs and spaces. We have a weekly cleaning schedule, and enjoy a clean home although we are no perfectionists and can be from time to time a bit messy. To avoid conflicts it's important that you have a similar mindset towards cleaning and co-living.
Also after Sebastian moves out I would like to keep alive this sweet and family-like vibe in the apartment, which I am very grateful for :)
The contract is limited but the end can be discussed together, it could be earlier or later than what we put in this announce. The room should be taken over no later than mid January.
The price is not a scam, it's just an old contract.
Anmeldung should be possible, please mention in case you need it :)
VERY IMPORTANT (sorry for the caps lock, but it is) :
1. We are planning to meet people on the 4th and 5th of January. Please write already when you have time in that weekend to pass by and meet us (Cate in person and Sebastian online). We will be deciding on the new flatmate in the week afterwards and look forward meeting you :)
2. write the word SPRITZ (and if you have one your favourite combi (For example Aperol, Campari, Cynar)) at the beginning of your message. This way we know that you read this whole text :)
You could write us a few words about you, for example what's your experience and no-goes in shared flats, what you like to do, for which time frame you would be interested. Cheers, a good Rutsch and meet you in 2025 💫
