Deutsch- & Englischsprachige Leute willkommen!
The room measures 15 m² and is located in a wonderful, huge shared flat with 4 other lovely housemates. It has a big kitchen which is used as a living space, alongside hangouts in bedrooms, and two bathrooms (shower and bathtub). The flat also has a basement space and shares a bike store with the rest of the building. There are also bike racks outside and extra storage closets in the stairwell.
The room has a rectangular shape and is spacious (fitting a large sofa bed next to a double bed). It has 4 functional windows and a wide windowsill (great for plants!), as well as a shelf extending the length of the room. There is plenty of light that comes in, even in the winter, but only in August do you get direct sunlight into the room. All of the walls are thick so the flat stays quite cool in summer and warm in the winter.
I am flying my things back home (to England) so any/all furniture you see can be yours at a price (happy to discuss options including paying over time ).
We find the best thing is actually that we live right between the Elbe and also right next to the Heide which is an amazing and huge forest. It's perfect for walking, cycling, mountain biking, camping, meditating and whatever you can imagine.
The flat is located in Radeberger Vorstadt/Neustadt and therefore just on the edge of the typically lively bar and club scene of Dresden. Public transport is accessible (train 11, bus 64 + 261).
Supermarkets aren't far as well. A Konsum is right next to our place, as well as a bakery and kebab place. To reach the netto takes you 10 min walking. It takes you 35-40 min to go to TU Dresden and the Uniklinikum is just over the Waldschlosschen bridge (which has stunning views of the Elbe valley). Sundays we have a petrol station right around the corner in case you need something.
First of all it doesn't really matter what we do or what you do - the only thing that matters is the vibe - cause it's our home.
We are friendly, open, funny, happy and like to be friends - and thats what we would also wish from you. To give you a little idea about us we still provide you with some details.
Joey moved to us from Canada and is doing his PhD at the Helmholz Institute saving future peoples lives by inventing a cancer-fighting proton camera. Besides from that he is a traveller by heart, makes great food (and terrible jokes) and gives very good hugs.
Isabel joined the flat just under a year ago after living in Colombia for a year. She studied Psychology and is currently in training to be a psychotherapist. She is sweet, has a sharp wit and if you are interested in traveling, you definitely won't run out of conversation material with her.
Nasrin is the newest member of our flat who joined us in July. She is currently working at a biotech company after doing a Masters in regenerative biology and medicine. She doesn't like playing Mario Kart, but aside from that she's lovely and always down for a laugh, if you're really nice to her she may even give you some of her famous Kim chi soup...
Every running system has an engineer. That's Marcus. He is helpful, upright and a friendly companion. Marcus loves AFL and if you feel like running or doing sports, he will definitely be good company. Watch out though, he's the flat prankster!
We are not really a purpose-built flat share. We like to hang out with a coffee or a beer or cook something. We also watch tv/movies or play games together and sometimes we go and do flat adventures together such as hiking or drinking.
For us its ok if you want to hang out with us or if you want to do your own thing - as long as you're not separating yourself :)
Message from the leaving member of the flat (Rachel): Ive lived here for 2.5 years and it has been such a joy, i'm incredibly sad to be leaving these lovely people and this lovely flat!! But, I am excited for whoever gets to take my place as its such a nice place to live.
Du kannst natürlich auch auf Deutsch schreiben und Fragen stellen, aber wenn wir alle zusammen sind, sprechen wir Englisch, damit niemand ausgeschlossen wird.
To prove that you have actually read that description please start your message with "I read it all :)"
Curious? Then write to us some things about yourself such as what your passions are, your age, few facts about you and how long you're planning to stay here.
See you soon! :)
