Hello! Are you looking for a room to rent in a shared apartment in the heart of Lüneburg? Then, keep reading!We, Soham, Marcel and Justin are founding a new Wg in a beautiful, quiet and yet very central place of the old town, and are still looking for 2 new roomates.
The house has 5 bedrooms in total, divided in 3 stages, plus a living room, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen, a celler, a little attic and a shed to store bicicles. And also a loooot of windows, so it's really bright. The distribution of the house, makes it also very quiet and silent, thanks also to it's privileged location in a courtyard adjacent to the central street. There is plenty of space downstairs to store your belongings.
Each room has a different size, ranging from 8 sqm (the smallest) to 19 sqm + porsche (the largest). We will split the cost of each room accordingly to the surface, once we have all moved in.
Your future room, like the rest of the house, it's delivered completely empty, so you can move in with your own furniture.
Do you already know Lüneburg?
A stunning, quiet, beautiful historic old town, full of little shops, pubs, restaurants and monuments, built around the river Ilmenau. Our house is located in a really central street, 2 min walking from the Stint, 1 minute from Am Sande, and so on. Supermarkets, shops, university, bars, are just located at a really short distance walking or by bike. In fact, it's really hard to find anything more centric, and yet, as quiet and sheltered as this house.
We also want to build a healthy and peaceful connection with the neighbours and the sourroundings, so we would like to live with someone who values tranquility and respect in coexistence. ¿How do you define yourself in this matter?
Your roomates,
Justin, Soham and Marcel already know each other a little bit, we even lived together in the past for some time. We are peaceful, orderly and calm people, and we would love to create a community where we can all live in harmony, with respect and communication. Here everyone has their space, their rhythms, their work or their studies: sometimes we have dinner together, or have a beer in the living room or on the bridge or in the Pons, or go to the lake to swim. But we also have our own independent lives, and we respect each other's privacy as much as we try to maintain a family spirit by doing things together a few times a week.
Would you like to know a little more about us?
Soham (he/him) is a 25 years old from India, and is one year into his PhD/doctorate at Leuphana.
He is “just a chill guy”, but is also up for impromptu game nights in the WG or going to a pubtogether sometimes. He also really enjoys having spontaneous and deep, meaningful conversations, perhaps in the kitchen while cooking together... His hobbies include bathroom singing, cycling, hiking and other outdoor activities in nature (talking to the birds, walking dogs from the shelter etc.). He is also regularly playing football and badminton at the University and enjoys sports in general. To relax and unwind, he likes listening to music, going to the cinema or just staying home and watching a football match, bingeing series or playing card games.
Justin (37, he/him) is a Postdoc scholar in Cultural Studies at Leuphana University and studies artistic communities. He enjoys long walks, swimming, martial arts, frisbee, and climbing. Loves playing music, cooking, and playing games. In his free time he enjoys writing and art. For work, he of is on campus much of the time but does a lot of his work from home. Justin speaks English and Arabic. He spends a portion of every year during university breaks in North Africa.
Marcel (he/him) is 39 and comes from Spain, and he works in ecologicall building, helping in the restauration of old houses around the region. He also works as a cheff sometimes, and he loves both jobs. Surfging, skateaboard, books, guitar, movies, cooking, interpersonal relations and self-development are some of his passions. You will normally find him working or chilling in his room or wondering the strees of Lüneburg with a coffee or a book on his hands. As Justin, he also travels to warmer countries in Winter chasing waves, mostly in the Canary Islands.
Please, note that since it's a new and empty house, most of the furniture we will have to bring by ourselves, step by step (except fridge, washing maschine and dishwasher which are there already). Also, we will share the responsability of the gas/ electricity/ wifi contracts, so not only one person carries out with all the contracts under his name.
It's also really important for us to have good communication, specially during the weekly house meetings, to discuss the house matters regularly. Also cleaning and keeping the house tidy and organized are musts, and a cleaning plan + house tasks will be designed so everybody makes sure to keep up with his part.
