Hey :)
If you see my full name pls do not fret, Thai names are usually longgg. Conveniently we do have nicknames to call each other so just call me Ploy. I will be starting my master’s in Public Art this winter semester and it will be my first time in Weimar.
In Thailand, I work in a non-profit contemporary art organization. We work with the community where we base, in Ratchaburi. We also have residency and internship programs so I had many opportunities to coordinate with international artists and interns. In thisrecent year I decided to move there because it feels really nice to be part of the community yourself while working with its people and it is I can feel more at ease outside of Bangkok since I also grew up in the countryside.
I would say that I’m introverted but also a really easy going person, not like timid or shy though because when I speak English I can be much more expressive and I really like that point about languages. I also know a little bit of Japanese and Spanish and I hope to learn more German once I’m there. It will not be an easy one for me.
During my last year of highschool, I did an exchange program and lived in Norway with a host family of 4 siblings. It was eye-opening and one of the best years of my life so I’m sure I can adjust well with my new flatmates and also the european lifestyle. I have also been in Germany a few months for documenta fifteen, where I joined the project with my collective from Thailand. I was mostly in Kassel then and I would guess that the size of the city is about the same with Weimar? If so I think Weimar would be suitable for me as I enjoyed Kassel very much but I don’t think it would have without friends though.
I like to try new things and go out for walks which is a thing that is difficult to do in my homecountry. To test my love for walking I have gone to the extend that I tried walking the Camino de Santiago Portugues. I would say that I still love it but I’m not the best at it as I have short legs.
Anyways I’m arriving on 3rd October and will be staying a hostel for 1-2 nights if you’d like to meet in person before deciding to take me in please let me know.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Ploy
