Beautiful and spacious apartment available for less than the actual rent in exchange for taking care of one cat and watering plants :)
The apartment is fully furnished with two big rooms roughly used as sleeping and living spaces, and one small room with a loft bed used as an office and guest room. (The bed and couch were actually switched since we took the pictures, so the bed is now in the green room (+ loft bed in the small room) and the couch is in the balcony room.
There's an additional entrance room and a large corridor, giving the apartment a very spacious feel.
The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, dish washer, gas stove and lots of cooking gadgets. The bathroom is quite small, typical for this kind of building, and doesn't have a bath tub.
The cat in question is an 11-year old Persian mix names Jasper that we got from a family who was unable to care for him. He's very gentle and sweet (never had a scratch from him in the 8 years he's been here), but a little shy at first. Once he gets to know you, he loves to play and have his belly rubbed.
You basically just feed him 2-3 times a day and keep his kibble + water bowls full. The cat toilet is hidden in a little cupboard in the bath room and would need to be emptied every 1-2 days. These things genuinely take up maybe 5 minutes a day, if that. Everything else would just be spending time with Jasper, petting him and playing with him sometimes when you're home. Ideally, this would not be a chore :)
Hope to hear from you, cat lovers <3
5 minutes walk from Leopoldplatz (U6, U9), 11 minutes from Wedding (U6, ring), several busses, for example directly to the main station or to Mauerpark.
Many opportunities for grocery shopping as well as good food, bars and cafés around the corner and in the street. Lots of green around, a beautiful late 10 mins away by bike.
Just send a message (email or phone) telling us a bit about yourself and come have a look at the apartment – virtually is fine, if you'd prefer that. Please don't call without messaging first, if it's an unknown number I won't answer.
Also, it's totally okay to send us a standard copy & paste message with small additions re: cat care – we know how hard it is to look for a place to stay in Berlin right now.
(We're also both from here, so feel free to message us in German, this text is just in English to be legible to more people.)
