Dear lovely people,
this winter our cutest room will be available and we are looking for someone who would want to share this lovely queer-feminist flatshare with us. The room is free from December till end of February.
The room has 9sqm and it will be 280€ including electricity, gas, warm water and heating, telephone and internet, as well as a fee for German TV/radio and an insurance. The deposit is 528,13€ (negotiable).
There is one window towards the canal and we can provide a table and chair if you want and also a mattress and improvised wardrobe.
Our flatshare has a completely furnished kitchen with a dish washer, a bathroom with a tub and a washing machine, and a huge corridor, which we’re transforming into a living/reading room little by little. Also, there’s a separate toilet, a small storage room and a cellar. Sometimes we smoke in the kitchen - as long as no-one is cooking/eating.
So, now it’s your turn to tell us a little bit about yourself. We prepared some questions to chose from if that helps ☺
- Where are you from, what are you doing in Berlin, what are your interests and what your worries?
- What is important to you in life? What kind of person do you strive to be?
- Do you already have some experience in sharing a flat with others and what is important to you in living with others?
- If there’s one thing you could change about societal values immediately, what would it be? What do you dislike about our society’s current gender order?
If you’re interested or know someone that might be, please write us - we cannot wait to get to know you!
Carl*, Judo and Jakob
Please use the word 'avocado' in your message to let us know you read through the ad. Thanks!
p.s. Unfortunately, we cannot offer an Anmeldung.
The flat is 5min away from Kottbusser Tor and surrounded by shops, bars and the trees along the Landwehrkanal. Graefestraße and a street market are just across the street. By foot, one can reach Oranienstraße in 5min and the subway station Kottbusser Tor. The lines U1 and U8 that run there take one to all parts of the city very quickly.
At the moment WE are Carl* (41, philosophy&social theory, German), Judo (30, cook, diy researcher, Spanish) and Jakob (34, psychology, US-American).
Our flatshare is a cosy and accepting place. It is important to us to not only share the rent but also experiences, household duties and now and then an evening together. We like to have trust and empathy for each other – but also, we give each other the space and quiet we need.
You should be respectful of our queer identities and lifestyles. At the moment we are all white. BIPoC are very welcome to reply. Languages we share in the flat are English and for some German (so far).
