There is a big and bright room available for a year in our flatshare!
It's about 25 square meters, and comes fully furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, desk, shelves, and other essential amenities. You’ll also find a comfortable corner sofa with side table.
Two large windows overlook a park, facing south, so the room is filled with natural light throughout the day.
There are beautiful plants that require watering once a week but also that you keep the curtains open during the day so they get enough light—but we could remove them if you prefer. (or we will remove them, if we notice that you are killing them :P)
It will be easier for a person who doesn't have furniture to live here, as the room is furnished. But we can talk about it further in person.
The apartment is located in a quiet area of Friedrichshain, while still being close to vibrant hotspots like Simon-Dach-Straße, Boxhagener Platz, and the East Side Mall, all just a 10-minute walk away.
Close by you’ll find two small parks, basketball and volleyball court.
The RAW area with its clubs, skate park, and climbing park is also near to rich by feet.
Two supermarkets are only a 5-minute walk away.
For transport, Warschauer Straße (S+U-Bahn) and Ostbahnhof (S-Bahn + regional trains) are nearby, and the M10 tram, which runs all night, is easily accessible.
Our flat is about 230 square meters, with two bathrooms, a newly renovated and fully-equipped kitchen , (two large fridges,an air fryer etc), small storage area and a convenient backyard for bike parking (or you can use the bike cellar).
The flat is shared by six international flatmates—three women and three men in our 30s. Most of us have been living together or know each other since ages.
We’re a mix of working and studying individuals who enjoy a balance of socializing and privacy. Our professions are totally diverse as well and we have different working shedules, so we use the common areas on different times. We are a lawyer (and soon-to-be pilot), beautician/nail artist, psychologist/student, tattoo artist/cook, receptionist/student, and a ramp agent. Because of the size of the flat and our schedules, and common sense (like don't stay 1h in the bathroom) the flat doesn't feel crowded.
We want to emphasize that everyone is welcome here, regardless of orientation, identity, or background. If you can see youself feeling comfortable living with us, we’re more than happy to have you here. What matters most is mutual respect and being a person who knows how and enjoys living in a flatshare and will consider this place as their home.
While we’re looking for someone who wants to live in this community, there’s no obligation to participate in specific social activities, as we don't have any :P — If we feel like hanging out, we do it. We’re often up for coffee, beer, or a chat in the kitchen, which is our main social space. Occasionally, we host small get-togethers on weekends.Sometimes we go out or eat together.
To keep everything running smoothly we have a cleaning plan, that we follow stricktly and from time to time we oganise a meeting for updates about things that need to be done in the flat.
It's fine to have guests over, and you can smoke in your room and maybe the kitchen, depending on the occassion. (currently noone is a smoker and I try to quit, so please don't do it infront of me for a while :P)
Being open to the idea of connecting with your flatmates is important, while of course respecting everyone’s need for privacy, alone time etc.
There are a few rules to be taken seriously. Pay rent on time, leave spaces as you found them (or cleaner) after using them. Be proactive, if a light bulb is broken, replace it, if the trash bin is full, take trash out. Write the word Vivarium in the message you'll send us, so we know you read everything!
Rent: €700/month
Deposit: €700
Rental period: One year/ Flexible. Possibility of staying longer (in an different room) or less than a year.
Trial period of 3 months.
Anmeldung: Currently not possible (if this changes, we’ll gladly provide it; In that case Abmeldung will be necessary upon moving out).
Home office: None of us work full-time from home, and we’d prefer if you don’t either.
