Das Zimmer ist 16m² groß (Deckenhöhe 3,40 m, mit Stuck) und durch die großen, nach Nordosten zeigenden Fenster ist es schön hell. Der Fußboden besteht aus den aufgearbeiteten originalen Dielen von 1900. Im Zimmer würde ich den Schrank, das Bett sowie ein Billy- und ein Expedit-Regal zurücklassen.
Die Wohnung hat eine große Wohnküche (14 m²) mit Sofa und nach Südwesten zeigenden Fenstern. Die Küche ist ausgestattet mit einem E-Herd (4 Platten, Röhre mit Ober- und Unterhitze) und einer Kühl-/Gefrierkombination. Geschirr, Töpfe etc. sind reichlich vorhanden, aber es ist auch noch Platz, falls du bereits eine Haushaltsausstattung hast. Ein Zimmer der WG hat einen Balkon, der mitgenutzt werden kann. Das Bad ist zwar klein, verfügt aber über eine Badewanne (mit Dusche); die Toilette ist separat. Es gibt einen kleinen Abstellraum und zur Wohnung gehört ein Kellerabteil. Wir haben unsere eigene Waschmaschine, die im Waschraum im Keller steht. Die Wäsche kann auf dem Dachboden getrocknet werden. Zum Haus gehört ein kleiner Hinterhof, wo du dein Fahrrad abstellen kannst, wenn du es nicht in den Keller tragen willst, oder wo man grillen kann oder ein paar Blumentöpfe hinstellen kann. Parken ist entweder in den umliegenden Straßen möglich oder man kann einen Parkplatz in Parkhaus schräg gegenüber mieten.
Das Haus ist seit 1900 in Familienbesitz; zu unserer Vermieterin haben wir ein sehr gutes Verhältnis. Die Nachbarn sind bunt gemischt (Studenten, Doktoranden, Berufstätige) und rücksichtsvoll.

The room measures 16 sqm (with a ceiling 3.40 m high, with decorative moulding) and has two large windows (in a north-easterly direction), so it's a nice and bright room. The floor is still the original floor boards, which have been restored. I'd leave the wardrobe, the bed and a Billy and an Expedit shelf when I move out.
The flat has a big kitchen (14 sqm) with a sofa, the windows are orientated towards the south west. There is an electric stove/oven (4 hotplates) and a fridge-freezer. There's plenty of crockery, pots and pans, but if you've got your own stuff, there's enough room for that, too. One room in the flat has a balcony that you can use, too. There's a small bathroom with a bathtub with a shower; there's a separate toilet. There's a small storeroom and we have a cellar compartment. We've got our own washing machine in the laundry room. You can dry your clothes in the attic. There's a small backyard - you can leave your bike here if you don't want to carry it down to the cellar, you can have a barbecue there or grow some flowers in pots. There's street parking or you can rent a parking bay in the parking garage across the street.
The house has been in the same family since 1900 and we have a very good relationship with our landlady. The neighbours are a mixed bunch - students, PhD students, employees - and they're generally considerate.
Die Wohnung befindet sich in Dresden-Strehlen am Wasaplatz in einem kleinen Altbauviertel. Die Bevölkerung ist angenehm gemischt und besteht aus Studenten, zugezogenen und alteingesessenen Familien. Die Haltestelle Wasaplatz (Straßenbahn 9 und 13, Bus 61, 63, 75 und 85) ist zwei Minuten Fußweg entfernt; zum Haltepunkt Strehlen (S1, S2) sind es 6 Minuten Fußweg. Innerhalb von 6 Minuten ist man an der Uni, die Fahrt in die Neustadt dauert 18 Minuten, in die Altstadt 13 Minuten. Mit der S-Bahn ist man in 2 Minuten am Hbf, in einer halben Stunde in der sächsischen Schweiz und in 26 Minuten am Flughafen. Der Große Garten ist ganz in der Nähe und wenige Häuser von der Wohnung entfernt liegt der alte Dorfkern von Strehlen mit dem Kaitzbachpark. Ein Supermarkt und ein DM befinden sich in unmittelbarer Nähe, ebenso etliche Bäcker, Dönerstände, Arztpraxen und Apotheken und etliche Einzelhändler. Im Sommer kann man im Freibad Mockritz baden gehen (8 Minuten mit dem Bus), außerdem sind mehrere Schwimmhallen gut zu erreichen.
The flat is in Dresden-Strehlen near the Wasaplatz in a small neighbourhood of buildings from around 1900. There are students and families living here, both newcomers and established residents. The tram/bus stop Wasaplatz (trams 9 and 13, buses 61, 63, 75, and 85) is 2 minutes by foot; Strehlen train halt (S1, S2) is 6 minutes by foot. The bus takes 6 minutes to the university, the trams to the Neustadt and the city centre take 18 and 13 minutes, respectively. By train you can reach the central station in two minutes, the airport in 26 minutes and the nearest national park in half an hour. The Große Garten (a huge public park) is within walking distance and a few houses down the street there's the old village with a small park alongside a brook. There's a supermarket near the flat, as well as several bakeries, kebab shops, pharmacies, small shops and several doctors. During summertime, there's a swimming ponds (8 minutes by bus) and in general there are several swimming pools easily reached by public transport.
In unserer WG wohnen außer mir Damaris und Nik. Wir sind keine Zweck-WG, aber wir müssen auch nicht alles gemeinsam machen - das geht eher nach Lust und Laune. Alles, was gemeinsam verbraucht wird, wird reihrum eingekauft, aber ansonsten kauft jeder selbst allein und kocht selbst. Essen tun wir aber trotzdem oft zusammen und in unserer schönen Küche quatschen tun wir sowieso. Damaris und Nik werden nächstes Semester ins Ausland gehen - Zwischenmieter gibt es schon und wir werden euch natürlich einander vorstellen.
Your two other flatmates will be Damaris and Nik. We're not a flat share where everyone lives their separate life, but there's also no pressure to do everything together. The stuff that we use together we buy together, but apart from that everyone buys their own stuff and cooks their own food. That doesn't mean that we don't eat together, though - we often eat together and our kitchen is ideal for just hanging out with each other. Damaris and Nik will leave for a year abroad during next term - we've already got short-term flatmates for the next months and will introduce them to you.
