The room is approx. 12 m² and furnished; it contains a sink, a bed (120x200cm), a wardrobe, a bookshelf, a desk with a chair and another chair. There's a big window with curtains with a nice view on the yard of the dormitory and the black forrest. The whole flat is big and spacious; it's divided into two parts, the first one with a big hall has three rooms, the other hall five. Besides, the first one also contains the kitchen and the dining/living room with two sofas and some chairs. Moreover there are two rooms with three showers in total and a room with three separated toilets. The flat is located in Händel students dormitory of SWFR, which is really a nice dorm! It's a nice atmosphere between all the habitants and there are numerous options what to do like playing volleyball, joining the book club or going to the famous Händel bar ;)
From the dormitory it takes 3 minutes to the tram station "Okenstraße". It takes 10 minutes by tram to the main station and also 10 minutes by bike to the city centre. Also there's a frelo station in 100 m distance from the dorm, where you can lend a bike for free. Moreover, there's Aldi, Lidl, Kaufland, Edeka and Alnatura nearby. Herdern is a quiet district with lots of one-family houses and if you take a walk you're in the woods within 5-10 minutes with a nice view over Freiburg and surroundings.
Well, we are doing this a little last minute so I won't spend much time on this (or translate it to German). As you may noticed, the other parts were in German, I just took them from the ad when I was applying for a room here.
We are overall a pretty chill group of ppl. Sometimes things can get a little rough but that is what you would expect living with 7 other ppl with a huge range of personalities (I am not writing this down for no reason btw). To not scare you off, unless you will take advantage of our honour-based cleaning schedule, you don't have to fear any bad mood in the WG (at least that's my case lol)
Now super short paragraph about us (written by Martin):
My name is Martin (24), I come from the Czech Republic, study computer science, drink a lot of caffeinated drinks and, most importantly, I like to chill around when I am not coding or planning trips across Europe. + My room is full of surprises for some ppl. I will be chilling around for at least one more semester depending on my master's thesis.
Leo (21, they/them) studies social work in their Bachelors in 3rd semester. They likes to dance, swim and sing (especially in a choir), is a queerfeminist activist and is mostly a vegan. Moreover, they goes to mensa almost every day and always enjoys good company for it. Also it's very unlikely to meet Leo in the WG without music; they listens to everything from Oldies, Queen, Lumpenpack and Billie Eilish up to film music. They likes to go for a walk or hike and is learning Finnish at the moment.
[Btw I also took this from the old ad, Leo is now doing Erasmus in Finland, but they will be back in August!!]
-> as long as we are missing Leo in the WG, we have a sublet Lina:
Lina (24, social work) likes to hang out in the WG, dances a lot and works in a cafe close by (to Martin's great pleasure), which is why she sometimes brings cinnamon buns for everyone to enjoy! She stated that "she enjoys the communal wg-life" -> so we must be a great WG;)
Since the rest is not helping me with the ad (and are present in the WG), I won't try to write their medallions, you get to find out once you come for the casting/move-in with us:)
Elina - Russia - sings a lot, cooks a good soup, and loves the purple colour. Has issues with collecting way too many books and her sleeping schedule is really fucked up.
Ben - Germany/US/Russia - WG's most drunk person (?). Has many friends and you can be one of them!! Also cooks a mean rice.
Theresa (she/her) - Germany - WG's most positive person, always with a smile on. She likes to drink absurd amounts of rooibos tee and has the privilege of the biggest room in the WG.
Ahmad - Pakistan - cool guy, has a cool bike and is getting married soon (Wohooo), he's doing his Master's in Microsystems Engineering. In his words "I can be very friendly, but I can train my model otherwise too. Normally I listen more and whine less :D". He's in the international room so you won't live with him for long:(
Mahad - Pakistan - cool guy, is learning German. I always forget what exactly he studies, but it's under TF. He's in the international room so you won't live with him for long:(
SWFR is prescribing that the new flatmate has to be a woman from "educational inland" (Bildungsinländer*in; hard to translate), but on request, they also allowed us to choose a non-binary or inter person. There is no real definition by SWFR of "Bildungsinländer*in". What they told us was "grown up in the german/western culture/knowing that culture" or "graduated in Germany". We think it's really shitty specifications, but please just check for yourself if you feel addressed and think that it applies to you. And of course, you have to be a student. Besides, it would be nice if you're fine with speaking English (but of course you don't have to be a pro).

If you think that you could match with us, just text us via WG gesucht, we'll text you back! Please write us your favourite song, movie, game and book :) We're looking forward to your message!
[message from Martin: I copied this from last time, honestly, write anything which you think we can find interesting or what would make you a nice chill roommate :) + Having a profile picture is always nice ]
PS: Martin again, I honestly don't think asking for books is the best sign of character, so try to tell us your favourite plant, drink, place on the planet Earth ;) (No wrong answers)
