Hey hii,

I am Pius, pronounced as "pious" (I'm definitely not pious though :)

I study (almost finishing) public policy in Vienna and Erfurt. I will be finishing my studies in September and have started a new job in July. That is why, I already want to move to Leipzig.

I love a homely apartment, a place of warm retreat, and that is why I would want to live in a city that allows me to have a home—like the one I have in Vienna and in Erfurt.

I would like to think I am a guerrilla gardener, a home gardener, a photographer (still learning), a poor poet (sometimes I write), an ally to feminist causes and queer rights, (especially trans rights) and a left-leaning person or a socialist (unlearning and learning!)—something that I also want to get better at in my everyday life, in my behavior, and actions.

I am fond of cats, and dogs. They have my heart. I often like cycling around the city and photographing random things and people—if consented. I love plants, though I admit I can be a bit extravagant when it comes to buying and caring for them. I have a keen interest in rediscovering piano playing. Ultimately, I dream of building a house in the countryside someday, get lots of ducks, a cow, chickens, and living a slow life :)

Though I believe in certain values that are very close to who I am and who I want to be—such as respectful conversation, value for every life whoever they are (especially the vulnerable identities, people), and compassion—I am also discovering new ideas and philosophies and would want to be more and more self-aware. I would like to challenge my "isms" with new reasons and not be very rigid to one perspective of life.

About living in a community-purpose flat-share: I would like to think I am a very warm and open person who appreciates company, sometimes even a quieter company, a breakfast together, a coffee or dinner chat, conversations about all things politics, life, people, and participation in silly things and activities. I grew up in boarding school and have spent all my life living away from home and family—finding my own family, mostly living in shared homes. Though I wouldn’t say I am an introverted person, and I ususally like meeting new people and exploring places; I do not do very well opening up in big group settings. I do like intimate person-to-person (one or two or three at a time) conversations where I can be more attentive, participate, and cherish.

I take pride in maintaining a clean and organized living and working environment. It is also one of the things that makes me happier, calms me, and helps me focus.

Food: I generally love cooking and experimenting with recipes. Cooking is one of the three activities that make me happier and calmer. I often cook for the “entire village”—as mum would say :) I like sharing food and cooking for very many people, definitely my lunch and dinner. Sometimes, I also like to eat alone—it depends on time and context. I prefer a mix of vegetarian-vegan food routine. I eat eggs if that counts :) I love tea and coffee, though I am lactose intolerant.

Retreat: Home is a retreat, a place to recollect myself. So, sometimes I like to remain private. And sometimes, I appreciate company and doing things together—in the kitchen, on the balcony, in the living room; cooking, reading, watching, chatting—lots of things that we can discover and invent together to do.
