We are searching for queer and/or FLINTA people only!
(If you are a hetero cis-dude, don't bother to write us)
Dear reader,
we are a leftist, queer house with people from different nations with four apartements close to the inner city of Lüneburg. We have a close and good relationship to each other and discuss things concerning the house and living together. We at the rooftop flat are currently 3 non-binary people starting to live together. Two of us moved in last year (spring and autumn respectively) and one person just moved in. This means that the flat is just being rather newly set up. On the one hand this offers a lot of opportunities for diy-renovation and communal shaping of our home. On the other hand it means work, too! We are looking forward to transform what is already here into a cozy and functioning home with you.
Your room is about 11.5 square metres, has a south-/garden-facing window and some moments of direct sun during the day. It has a built in bunk bed that we can deconstruct with you together should you not want it. The room does have a bit of a cave feel, which can be very cozy. If you should feel the wish for a bit more space, don't worry though: The communal living room of the house is located in our flat and we have a large kitchen and other communal areas to discover in and around the house.
The rent is an estimation/average as we have a solidaric bidding system in the house. Depending on your financial situation you might end up paying less or more.
Our apartment is not barrierfree, it is in the 3rd floor and reachable by lots of stairs only.
Our house is a lot of fun and work in progress; we have a basement (including a workshop-room), a garden, a communal living room, a communal guest room and regular house (as well as flat) plenaries.
Our location is a major advantage of the place we live in. It's close to the inner city (10 min by feet) and 20 min by feet to the train station, we have a local pub right on the other side of the street and our local Kiosk basically next to us. We are also close to different parks and supermarkets. There is also a bus station one minute away.
It is important to us to have a consent when it comes to topics like feminism, trans* and sexwork solidarity, sensitivity to racism, antisemitism and power structures. While doing our best, it is totally normal to make mistakes like using inappropriate language or the likes; we all learn from each other! But it is important to us that our house is a safer space for us, so we are looking for a person that agrees that racism, the patriarchy and capitalism suck. And you need to be cool with trans* and nonbinary people: if you can't respect peoples pronouns this won't work out.
This flat still feels like a fresh start, with two out of tree people being fairly new to the house community. We wish for a familiar and solidaric being together and would like to hang out, cook, play board games ... just live together. At the same time, we wish to respect privacy and our needs to be on our own. Closed doors are very respected and if we don't see you for a couple of days people might ask how you are doing but you are also being left alone if wished for. So we are kind of social, but we also respect our privacy and our need for room to ourselves.
We do have common groceries and drugstore products and try to shop together once a week. For that and other organisational and/or emotional topics we have regular plenaries.
About food: we 3 are vegetarians but communal cooking is mostly vegan in our house. It's important to us to not judge others consumption choices. Eventhough we like eating organic and fairtrade, we are not dogmatic about it (we want to be able to afford our food as well). However, one person is quite smell-sensitive, so it would be a problem if you'd cook smelly meat on a regular basis.
We strive to have a clean and organized flat and want to have a cleaning-system for that. At the same time we are aware that life is not always easy and we know how neurodivergence or a depressive episode can make this difficult sometimes. Our goal is not perfection, but looking out for eachother and looking for ways to get all our needs met the most.
As written above, we are three FLINTA*, all working part-time. We are all white. A lot of people in the house are politically active.
Important: It would be good to have basic english speaking and understanding skills of english as it is our main communication and organisation language within our flat and in the house.
We are also interested in different things like abolishing patriarchy, working class fights, BDSM, doing crafty DIY projects, cooking, trans* liberation, mental health stuff, bouldering, inline skating, spikeball, punk, electronic music, climate justice, justice without the police and prisons, learning about antisemitism, playing baldurs gate 3, going to the gym, reading, drawing and much more.
The move-in date is flexible!
Sadly no cats can move in because of allergies.
Sounds cool/ further questions?
Then write us a message here or send an email to
aus_frommer_ecke[ät]riseup.net
and put the word "Rooftop" in the title! Tell us some stuff about yourself and we try to find a date to get to know each other. If you feel generally ungood or if it's not possible for you to meet in person, text us anyways and we can try to find a solution together :)
Suggested times for meeting up (please write us which would work for you):
21.01. 12am
We would love to have a short meeting, also possible online, to just check in about most basic things and organisational stuff (intended timeframe: ~30min). If all of us think that we might be a match we would like to meet a second time to just hang out and get to know each other without time pressure and preferably IRL.
