Hi there, how nice of you to drop in on this ad.
I'm Saskia and I have newly found a little rental apartment that I would like to share with a roomie who could be you!
I do speak German, but this ad is in English to encourage fellow non-native speakers of German to reach out. I know it can be a challenge to find your footing in Vienna when you are still learning the language and I myself enjoy taking a break from all the tongue twisting at home, as English is still more relaxed for me.

Your new room has about 12m2. It faces north, but into a spacious inner courtyard so that light easily finds its way to your window. The floor is laid with a lovely, well-kept inlaid parquet. The room comes unfurnished.
The apartment is on the first floor. Your room is the first on the left when you enter the apartment and opposite of it there is a storage space where you can put stuff that won't fit into your room. Next to your room, there is a similarly sized room that we can turn into our living room. How about a comfy couch, a table for eating, tons of plants, some instruments, a foldout massage table, a stack of boardgames, a projector for movie nights... what else might we need to make this a cozy, chill place for us and our friends? :^)
I'm bringing some basic furniture: couch, table, lamps, sound system, some kitchen utilities. Most of the rest is open to our creativity and initiative as we are starting from scratch, and I hope you're just as excited about that as me!
Behind the house, there's some room to hang laundry and sit with a morning coffee.
We have a fridge and the building has a communal washing machine, some other gadgets you and I will still need to scavenge on willhaben for. I'm currently working to secure a dishwasher and washing machine.
You can store your bike on the building's ground floor storage.
Unfortunately, neither the house entrance nor the appartment is wheelchair accessible.
Our new place is situated in the laidback 20. Bezirk. It is in walking distance from the Donaukanal and Augarten. The Donauinsel is a short bike ride away and so are Prater and Nußberg. Our street is lined with trees, is a quiet dead end and has a little playground park on it.
Most of Vienna's universities are within easy reach by bicycle or public transport.
The WG is located right by the colorful Hannovermarkt, offering affordable fruits and veggies and a solid mix of international cuisine. For the climbers among us, boulderbar is just a stone's throw away.
For your daily needs, you will find supermarkets (LIDL, Penny, Billa), pharmacies, bakeries, betting offices and the local retiree club within 5 minutes walking.
A little bit about me: I'm 25, from the Netherlands and been living in Vienna for a year now. I study International Development at the Hauptuni and next to that am involved in a group called Degrowth Vienna, which is concerned with working towards a more socially and ecologically just economy. I have a weak spot for languages and chances are that if you bring in a new one I will have a go at learning it. When I'm not doing brainy things, you'll find me on my bicycle, by the canal, going on hikes (the kind that includes elaborate cake breaks), fiddling on guitar and cello, inventing veggie dishes, learning new strokes in my massage course and on the weekends I do not mind a little dancing, preferably at fluc.
I would be very happy for our WG life to be a communal one in which we share some stuff as well as some of lives' ups and downs, the jazz and the blues. As the age-old WG-Gesucht adage goes: we all like to keep to ourselves on some days. On others however, I'd be pretty hyped to hang out and get to know your mates and you mine and we all have a jolly good time.
I have 6 years of WG experience up my sleeve and would appreciate it if you bring some too. Non-violent and open communication is very important to me.
My priority will be with FLINTA* people.
Sexism, racism, homophobia, xenophobia and related forms of hate against other humans have no place in our WG.
