My partner and I are subletting a spacious and luminous bedroom in our quiet flat in the centre of the city. The room is normally occupied by our flatmate, who will be away for two and a half weeks. The rental period can possibly be extended as she considers prolonging her absence beyond December 6. The bedroom is fully furnished, incl. a wardrobe, desk + chair, little library, electric piano, a monstera plant and small olive tree. The other bedroom is occupied by my partner and I. The flat itself spans 75m2 and is connected to our 75m2 rooftop terrace where we keep many plants and grow our own vegetables. Our home is also shared with two very friendly Maine Coon cats.
Our flat is situated in a quiet area of Mitte, near the Spree and the city's museum district. It’s just a 5 to 10-minutes bicycle ride away from vibrant areas such as Kreuzberg, Prenzlauerberg, and the more commercial part of Mitte. Various public transport options, including U2-Märkisches Museum, U8-Heinrich-Heine, and S-Jannowitzbrücke, are located within a 1 to 10-minutes walk distance from the flat. Plenty of supermarkets (BioCompany, Edeka, Lidl, etc.), nice cafés, restaurants and galleries around the corner.
The atmosphere in our flat I'd say is very friendly, respectful, and easy-going – allowing everyone to follow their own schedule. I work as an independent curator from home, while my partner, a music producer, typically leaves the flat during weekdays between 9:30 am and 7 pm. We both enjoy cooking and are open to sharing meals occasionally. During evenings we often go to exhibition openings; on weekends we like to go for walks outside the city, go out, ... it basically never gets boring. We are both fluent in German but communicate with each other in English.
Flat viewings/ getting acquainted can be arranged in the evenings on weekdays, alternatively, through FaceTime, Zoom, etc., during daytime (from 11 am).
Given that we have two cats at home, it would be ideal for you to be a cat lover. We lead an active lifestyle, so we're looking for a flatmate who, like us, is regularly out for work or other daily commitments. Keeping things tidy is important to us, especially in shared spaces like the kitchen, living room and bathroom, so we hope to be aligned on this matter.
