hard facts / short version:
We are a functional WG, which means we live with 7 to 8 people in a 6-room apartment and share all rooms.
The apartment is on the 2nd floor without an elevator.
We pay rent in solidarity. For example, right now some people pay 200 euro, some pay 400, others pay 650. Depending on what you can give.
We are currently *only* looking for people who identify as BIPOC (Black people, Indigenous people, People of Color). We will give preference to TINA (trans, inter, non-binary, agender) BIPOC people and we are also open to live with queer BIPOC cis-women. Please do not apply if you do not fit these criteria.

We are currently 6 trans/non-binary people staying here and some of us are neurodivergent.
Currently 3 of us are BIPoC and one of them is white passing, the 3 others are white.
Our WG has been white dominated for a long time and we want to actively change that now. Therefore, we are currently only looking for new BIPOC flatmates. One person has the wish to move out soon.
We want the WG to be a place where we talk about power dynamics, because they exist anyways. We wish to live in a queer and political community where we can listen to each other and show ourselves vulnerable, care for each other and give each other space. Where we value criticism as something loving and hold each other accountable because we believe in the best in each other and want to grow together. Consent in everyday life is important to us, so we rather check in more than less, and don't just assume what are supposed to be "normal" needs or boundaries. That doesn't mean we always get it right, and with so many people it's not so easy sometimes, but it's where we want to go.
We also wish that you can give the WG space in your life, because we don't want it to just be a place to eat and sleep.
About living together: We live "functionally", which means we don't have private rooms, instead our rooms have functions: There is a living room, an office, a big shared bedroom and 3 retreat rooms. Each person can then always decide if they want to be in company at the moment or if they want to retreat and be by themselves, if they want to sleep in the bedroom or sleep alone in another room. We also hang out a lot "together alone", so do our thing but just in company.
We do have a shared wardrobe, and likewise it's totally okay to have private clothes. We can decide together how we want to do things in the future. We are open to discuss corona and solidarity in the pandemic.
We share the rent in solidarity:
Every month everyone says how much they can contribute. For orientation, the average rent for 7 people is 400€, but some people can pay more and some less, in regards to how each person can afford it.
We live vegan/vegetarian, for political reasons. We still prefer no dead animals in the apartment, but can imagine negotiating exceptions if it's a really good fit between us otherwise.
Our languages are German, English, and French.
We speak German/French/English/Farsi/Arabic/Turkish/Spanish/Danish to varying degrees. So far we have spoken English during plenaries and in the WG chat. Please let us know which of these languages you speak!
There is currently a cute dog living here only two days a week.
Apart from that, it might be important to know that the apartment is not very sound-proofed, which means that on the one hand we are very considerate in terms of volume, and on the other hand that the Sonnenallee in front of the window can be heard from some of the rooms.
