Beautiful 26m2 room with Balcony in shared flat with living room and kitties :)

The apartment is located directly opposite the Schöneberg City Hall and the Rudolph-Wilde-Park. On our balcony you stand at eye level with the place where JFK said his famous words more than 50 years ago: "Ich bin ein Berliner".

We live close to the Akazienkiez and many cafes, bars and restaurants and little shops are just around the corner. The transport connections are great: U7, U4, and Ringbahn can be reached within 5-10 minutes, the M46 stops just in front of the house. In addition, there are Spätis, a library, a swimming pool and a large park to go running in the immediate vicinity. Every weekend there is a flea market in front of the Schöneberger Rathaus; during the week there is also a small weekly market with fresh fruit and vegetables.

We are Niklas (31, German), Anastasia (38, US), Marie (34, French) and we share the flat with the two most adorable kitties.
Niklas is working at PIK doing his PhD in physics/sustainability, likes doing bike tours, home improvements, explaining how anything and everything works, has an unlimited Yorck kino pass and enjoys having a beer in the evenings (usually alcohol free during the week) :)
Anastasia is a field ecologist, loves getting out into nature whenever possible, trips to vabali, rollerskating at Tempelhof and also a cozy night in with the cats and a glass of wine.
Marie (who is moving in with us in April) is a chemist and enjoys a good movie at the cinema, going out once in awhile, or getting lost in a book or in conversation.

We are all into bouldering, enjoying a good wine or beer on the balcony, and having friends over for game or dance nights :) We like to go out for festivals, still some occasional silly nights out in Berlin, lounging in the parks in the summer. We're all vegetarians but the cats are not. We are open and tolerant except for Trumpers, AFDlers and Nazis.

Although we love to go out and also hosting dinners, brunches and game nights in our beautiful space, we have left our student days behind. In the last few years, we've put a lot of work into this flat, and have shifted away from student living to a family home with friends. We appreciate having a shared space where everyone is respectful of each other and feels responsible for keeping the flat cozy and clean and can easily and openly discuss any issues around the flat. We hope to find someone with a similar rhythm or routine to us, who wants to make the flat a home together.

We love good conversations (love nerding out about nature, physics, discussing politics, or just sharing what's going on in our lives), cooking tasty food or enjoying a movie together. We also work a lot and value having our home be a relaxed and chill space - just not too quiet :)

We are moderately obsessed with our kitties, and it's very important to us that you are happy to live with cats. Of course, closing your door when you're sleeping or want privacy sometimes is no problem, but if you wouldn't be ok to generally let the cats in your room, this flat won't be the right place for you. The apartment is their whole world, after all!

The reason the flat is short-term is we are planning to start a family in the coming year, so extension may be possible with the room
