More information about me

My name is Léo Saillenfest, 24, I am from Rennes, France, and moved to Berlin last October to start a new position as a full-employed researcher in sustainable electronics at the Fraunhofer Institute's IZM laboratory. I am now living in a temporary place and I'm currently looking for a new shared accommodation for this new professional adventure.

To introduce myself in a little more detail, I'm a former top-level cyclist. I competed during 12 years in an amateur and semi-professional level. Alongside my sporting career, I studied electronics engineering at INSA in Rennes where I also used to organise big events of thousands of people. Finally, I also set up my own startup, Pensezy, which finally failed last year (one day I will manage to create one ahah !!!).
I am now more into a new lifestyle in Berlin, where it is more about discovering new sports (I am going a lot into bouldering, running and ice skating but would love to discover more sports), meeting a lot of people and being as open as I can to have the most opportunities to discover new things in general.

As far as living with a flatmate is concerned, I already have a lot of experience. I lived in a halls of residence for 3 years, where I shared common areas (kitchen, bathrooms, living room) with 14 other students. It was an enriching experience, which taught me to respect others and live in a community. After that, I shared a flat for 2 years with my two best friends, and that experience also went very well.
One of my most interesting experiences was during my exchange semester in Indonesia, when I shared a flat with a German student. We didn't know each other at the start, but communication in English went very smoothly and the flat-sharing turned out to be a great success.

On a personal level, I'm a very sociable person and I enjoy living with flatmates. I like chatting and sharing pleasant moments with my flatmates. I try to make life in the community friendly and harmonious for the people I live with. It's important for me to create a human atmosphere in the flat. (I am also left wing and very open to every kind of people).

I'd also like to make it clear that I'm mainly vegetarian, although I never impose my dietary choices on my flatmates. I've already lived with people who ate meat, and everything always went well.

Finally, although I'm not yet fluent in German, I'm currently learning the language and would be very happy to practise. I'm fluent in French and English, which I think would be enough to communicate and integrate myself with you.

Please do not hesitate to contact me for any further information or to arrange an appointment.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and I look forward to meeting you soon.

Léo Saillenfest
