We are looking for a roommate from 15.2.25. Our wg is on a quiet street with windows facing southeast. The room is bright and spacious (25 sq. m). It is an altbau house centrally located in a pretty Kollwitzkiez, Prenzlauer Berg, 4 mins from U2 Senefelderplatz, 2 mins from Wasserturm, 15 minutes from Alexanderplatz, 5 mins from tram and bus stops. It is a cute peaceful neighbourhood with parks, cafés and shopping infrastructure. The room will be unfurnished but the washing machine, dishwasher, and bathtub are in the apartment. We have a gas stove, oven, and everything you might need for cooking.
I (Dasha) teach in university and work as an artist, often from home. Nicha (your second roommate) is a cook, works a lot and mostly stays with his partner but when back at home appreciates the serene atmosphere. So we are looking for a responsible person with whom it's comfortable to live, possible to share interests, nice to chat and giggle, maybe go out to the opening or to dance sometimes. We prefer a person who is busy with their life and not staying much at home but when here doesn't keep doors closed.
Quite and tidy apartment is crucial for us. We can't host parties or visitors but if there is an important occasion, and it is agreed in advance your guest is welcome to stay for up to 2 days. It is expected that every roomie cleans after themselves (always) and in the commonly used areas (at least once a week). In case you can't manage the cleaning yourself, of course, you can invite someone to help. If these rules are not respected, unfortunately, you can't stay in wg.
Our political views must align. Racism, fascism, zionism, (neo)colonial/ imperialist worldviews, classism, ableism, support of repressive state politics/ police violence and other bs is not accepted in our house. Cryptobros, redpillers, nepo babies, edgelords and fans of Elon Musk are not welcome either. All things being equal, we prioritize people who are in acute need of home, marginalized or/ and experience oppression based on (or assumptions about) their race, ethnicity, disability, class, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation or through other forms of discrimination.
The room is for 1 person only, we can't accommodate pet owners (due to allergies), couples or parents with kids, unfortunately. The rent can't be paid by job centre or other institutions. The room is first available until the end of summer, with the possibility of long-term rent. There is a chance that our friend will need to move in autumn. If so, we'll let you know in advance. If not and we all enjoy living together, you are welcome to stay long-term and get registration (anmeldung) from November on.

P.S. Sorry for sounding harsh! We know how daunting and exhausting it is to find a place in Berlin nowadays and don't want to add more frustration. We've been on the other side too. At the same time, we hope that expectations match reality for both sides, so it's important to set boundaries right in the beginning. We wish everyone good luck in this wohnungssuche quest, and we mean it!
