I‘m looking for a flatmate for my 2-room flat in the South of Pankow!
Although it‘s technically out of the Ring (by two stops), it still feels well connected & central enough (~20min to Alexanderplatz).
Wenn du kein Englisch verstehst, schreib mir und ich übersetze dir eine Deutsche Version von was ich hier reingestellt habe. :)
The rent is 610€ per month, including all costs (electricity, gas, heating, internet etc.), and it is WITH Anmeldung.
Starting off, it would be a 3 month contract, just to make sure we‘re both happy. But I‘m definitely looking for someone who wants to stay longer term - please don‘t apply if you‘re only looking for a room for a short time.
The neighbours are all quiet and relaxed.
The size of the room is 13,2 qm and is furnished with the usual things you would need (see pictures). I‘ve left it quite bare so that you can make it look however you want your home to look like :)
That flat in general:
It‘s on the top floor (3.Floor) of an Altbau (the stairs keep you fit & aren‘t as dreadful as one would imagine). It’s a quiet area, a lot of people with dogs live around the neighbourhood and you can sleep peacefully at night. Out the back of the building is a HUGE shared garden with benches & trees which will be lovely as soon as it’s warmer. The flat has it’s own private (dry) cellar which is super spacious, you can keep anything here from spare furniture to that suitcase you only need once a year. There’s a shared bicycle cellar. Once you enter the apartment, there is a small hallway, from which you can enter all rooms:
- The Kitchen: The whole kitchen was only installed in February, so it is lovely, all appliances are new, for some reason you can even control the fridge temperature from your phone (I‘m not excited by this either, but someone may be), there is a washing machine with dryer functions if you can‘t be bothered to hang up your washing (you can also control this from your phone, but that‘s as high-tech as this place gets, don’t expect more), there is a dishwasher. The Stove is Gas, so if you love to cook you will be pleased, but the oven is also gas, so if you love to bake you may not be quite as pleased. Everything you need for said cooking (or at least if you cook as basic stuff as I do) is present.
- The Tiny but does-the-job Bathroom:
Look, it‘s very small, there‘s no other way to put it. But you get used to it quickly (only took me 1 week to adjust to shaving my legs in a tight shower) & most importantly, it‘s clean. The water pressure is good. And the sink, as well as the toilet, are going to be replaced by brand new ones in the next couple of months - so the space will feel nicer & maybe even a little bigger.
-Your room:
The bed is two comfy mattresses on top of each other that can be pulled out into a spacious double bed. This is great for having a bed like a normal grown up but also being able to create extra floor space if you, i don’t know, wanna do a workout or whatever in your room. I have an old shelf in the cellar you can bring up if you want more storage. There’s a table that I would assume you use as a desk, but you do you. A mirror to make sure you don’t look shit leaving the house. West facing so you get a lot of light throughout the day & sometimes a sunset.
-My room:
pretty irrelevant for you apart from that you‘ll stumble upon it super tidy or super messy on alternate days
-The balcony:
The balcony is attached to my room. Of course this is a shared balcony, and you can use it whenever I am not currently in a deep sleep. It‘s nice, fits 4-5 people comfortably and has a peaceful view. East facing. If you are a smoker you can do so here, if you‘re not, you can also do so here. Also would be cool if you fancy helping me build a second bench for it.
Kissingenviertel - 10-15 min walk to U2, M1, S2, S8 (S+U Pankow) or 30 seconds to the bus X54 (which takes you to the U2 etc in 2min), Lidl 7min walk, Edeka/Rossmann/DM/Rewe/Pharmacy etc 10-15min walk. 3 different Petrol Stations a few min walk nearby (if you are like me and need milk or beer late at night or on a Sunday). Ask me for the exact address :)
About me:
I‘m a 25 yo Scottish/German girl, living in Berlin for over two years now. I just started uni so my daily life has changed quite a bit from working full-time. My spare time is mostly filled with my social life, but I also have phases where I stay home and discover 7 new hobbies, none of which I usually master, & that I forget about as quickly as they emerged. I spend a lot of time listening to music & always want some new recommendations! Always up for a fleamarket sunday, browsing different areas of Berlin, finding new cafe’s & bar nights. I don’t go clubbing often, but sometimes.
I do really value cleanliness/hygiene especially in the bathroom & kitchen, usually on a clean-as-you-go basis. How you live in your room is your thing, as long as you don‘t (try to) break anything or leave food lying around for nature to become our third flatmate.
Having said that, I‘m bad for leaving my half empty coffee mugs standing about (we all have our downfalls). I‘m going to be one of „those“ people & ask you to include your current favourite song in your message to me (mainly to make sure you actually read this little novel & also for my own entertainment).
We‘ll be a good match if you see yourself as tolerant, relaxed, communicative and believe you have a decent moral compass. I‘ve lived in flatshares for many years and have only very rarely had any issues with conflict, which in my experience can be solved within minutes. The best flatshares have always been the ones where I’ve made friends for life. Just want someone to have a laugh and drink beers with on the balcony in summer tbh.
Move-In date is flexible and can be discussed.
