As we are an international WG, internationals are explicitly welcome, which is why this text is in English. Nevertheless, as long as you can and want to communicate in English, you are very welcome to contact us, regardless of your origin!
Hi future flat mate,
This is an announcement for a LONG-TERM FURNISHED room in our lovely shared flat. We are looking for a person to take over a cozy room in our WG, and who would like to get involved and enrich our life together within the flat. The room is available for long-term from the 1st of October.
About your room:
----------------------------
The room is approx. 15m², has a beautiful window through which it gets a ton of sunlight, and comes furnished with all that you need to start a life here :) The furniture has to be taken over for 700eur and it includes (see pictures):
1. Mattress
2. Bed frame
3. Wardrobe
4. Desk
5. Desk drawer
6. Chair
7. Bookshelf
8. Storage cabinet / nightstand
9. Clothing drawer
10.Wall bookshelf
Please in your message let us know that you are aware of the move-in date (1st October) and that you want to but the furniture listed here.
About the house:
---------------------------
The house is a very large apartment on the 1st floor of a modern building. There are 5 bedrooms (one per person), 2 shared bathrooms, 1 large kitchen, a garden and 3 terraces. There also is a garage, a storage room and a laundry room available for us, as well as a lift in the stairwell - super practical, especially for moving in.
The location of the house is really geat for students, since our flat is equidistant to the three main Goethe University campuses. 10 minutes by bike to Riedberg, 15 to Bockenheim, and 15 to Westend. You can also reach the main railway station in 30 minutes by public transport, and buses run all night.
Otherwise, we are in a fairly quiet and green location, the Niddapark and fields are both 200m away, and the Nordwestzentrum mall is about 1km away. The nearest grocery store is a 3-minute walk away. The bus station is almost in front of the door, and various S-Bahn/U-Bahn stations are also in the vicinity (e.g., U1, U6 & U7).
Your future flat-mates:
-----------------------------------
- Sarah (German)
- Joel (Colombian-German) for a few months, afterwards Armin (German)
- Swann (French-German)
- Lukas (Austrian)
Ruben (Italian) is the one currently living in the advertised room, but he will move to Tubingen in October for his master's degree.
Sarah is studying business economics with a focus on NGOs and is currently working on her bachelor's thesis. Armin is studying primary school teaching, but he will be on Erasmus in Finland for a few months, so until January his room will be subrented to Joel, who is doing an internship at Fresenius while writing his master thesis. Swann works at GIZ in Eschborn but most of the time he is doing home office. Lukas is the new addition to the flat, and he will move to Frankfurt at the end of August to begin an internship at Deloitte.
We attach great importance to a communal atmosphere in the shared flat - we live together and not next to each other. Accordingly, we look forward to regular cooking, film and barbecue evenings together (screen, projector, popcorn maker and barbecue are available - cooker too, of course 😉) and chats in the large and really lovely kitchen, the heart of our shared flat. Nevertheless, we all have our own lives and routines: having private time is okay, of course! We call ourselves an active WG, though, and would like to keep it that way. In addition, some of us are very enthusiastic about music and play their own instruments. As with everything else, however, solutions can certainly be found in conversation, should one's practising ever be distracting to the other flatmates.
About you:
-----------------
We do our best to make sure that socially anchored prejudices and stereotypes do not matter to us. That's why we're looking forward to getting to know you first before we outline an "ideal" flat mate here. Nevertheless, here are a few key points: We don't want people who devalue other people on the basis of various discrimination factors: racism, classism, sexism, etc. should have no place in our flat! If you want to bring a pet with you, don't be afraid to contact us. The landlord is pet friendly, and we can certainly find a solution for many things, except maybe for tarantulas and giant snakes! 😉 (ps: for us to know that you have read the description and are not just copy/pasting, write us which is your favourite animal :D) Also, since we have a beautiful garden, it would of course be desirable for us if you would also like to work in the garden with us and grow some vegetables! A certain reliability in following the cleaning schedule would also be important to us.
If you like the room and think you would be a good fit for the shared flat, and if you would like to get to know us, write a few meaningful lines about yourself, what is important to you, and who you are. We are open to both online and in person viewings, so in your email write to us which one you would prefer. We will collect a number of applications and then set a date for the viewings, which we will communicate to you as soon as we can.
We look forward to meeting you :)
Sunny greetings from Praunheim! 🌞
