It is time to advertise the lovely room that is becoming available in our flat :) It consists of two rooms, a small bedroom with an adjacent office/living room space. Separated by a door, together the rooms are reaching a total of approx 22sqm. The room sees plenty of light, with wooden flooring and a cosy feel. There is opportunity to buy and keep the furniture in the room.
The flat is available from March, this is flexible and can be discussed!
The flat offers a bright and convenient kitchen, with a small pantry and all of the essential equipment, including a dishwasher. It also has a shared balcony in the kitchen which captures the sun for most of the day and afternoon.
There is a large bathroom with a shower, bath and underfloor heating, as well as a small bathroom. There is also a cellar compartment with plenty of space for long-term storage. Bikes tend to be kept in the hallway of the ground floor.
The flat is located in Neuenheim, a 2 minute walk from the Neckar. Lidl and Rewe are within 5 minutes walking distance, and the closest tram stop is 1 minute away. Bismarkplatz is also a 5-7 minute walk, therefore the flat is very conveniently located for public transport, shops, cafes, hang-out spots etc. The neighbourhood feels very safe and is quiet at night, with lots of families and students around.
My name is Jen and I am a PhD student from Scotland, studying cancer research. In my spare time I like going to the gym, going for coffee dates, hanging out with friends and socialising at the weekend. I am really passionate about DJing and anything electronic music related!
I've been vegan for 5 years so I'm really into cooking, I love trying new recipes and asian-style cuisine. I'm also an avid true-crime watcher, and practise djing regularly (but quietly!).
I've been doing German classes for several months now but I'm still at an embarrassingly low level despite being in Heidelberg for one year. Therefore, you would need to be comfortable using English in the flat :)
Please write to me a little bit about yourself, your interests/hobbies, and I can get back to you about setting up a meeting if I think it would be a good fit! If you can also let me know your availability, that would also help.
There are some costs that the previous flatmate had to pay for furniture/equipment. For example, the washing machine was purchased and the kitchen and bathroom were refurbished in the last couple of years. Therefore the costs for a new tenant have been calculated and would be as follows:
Kitchen costs: 150€.
Bathroom: 50€.
Washing machine: 100€.
Please bare this in mind when applying!
And as mentioned before the furniture in the bedroom is available for purchase, if you are interested.
We have a built-in IKEA Evarli closet, sofabed, office chair, working desk available for 650€.
Rent Breakdown:
The additional costs to the 590€ cold rent include:
95€ - Electricity and Gas
15€ - Wifi
60€ - Building maintenance
Total Rent: 760€
Please let me know if anything is not clear or if you have any questions :)
