Mit dem ÖPNV erreicht man zudem noch gut die Berge und verschiedene Seen, wie beispielsweise den Tegernsee oder Schliersee.
Die Umgebung von Holzkirchen bietet sich zudem noch für Radtouren an.
Holzkirchenselbst ist Größenweise eine ruhige Kleinstadt mit 2 Sportplätzen und einem Schwimmbad.
