(Important info: you need to be a matriculated student in Cologne in order to be able to get this apt)
My room
Is a 10.5m2 room with a couch (converts to a full queen size bed), a 140x200cm bed, 2 clothing racks and some other storage. My bedroom has very big windows that let a lot of light in, and keep the room fresh. The heater is right next to my bed and works perfectly for the cold winter nights. I also have warm, cold and fairy lights that make the room very cozy and welcoming.
I‘d leave you space for your luggage, lots of storage and a pair of bed sheets and pillows, everything you‘d need if you are coming straight for the airport.
Living room/kitchen
The best part of the house, we have a table that seats 4 people, that converts to 10 people by extending it. An eckbank (like a bank situation) and 2 extra chairs. We have plants (very easy to take care of) and fairy lights (yes we are obsessed with them) that bring it all together. The space is so easy to use and it is very comfortable. The heater is behind the seating area and keeps the house cozy. The windows have a beautiful view and let a lot of light in. (Everything needed for cooking huge meals to random ass midnight snacks you will find in our cupboards/cabinets)
Bathrooms
We have the luxury of having the toilet and the shower separated in different rooms.
We live in a student dorm town(?) as they call it in german, with (grossly guessing) 700-800 other students. Its very easy to make friends and get to know people around here. There’s a weekly party on thursdays, and everyone who lives in this lil town is invited.
You would have the tram line 18 available every 10mins reachable in 8 mins by foot. The line 18 also takes you to the uni in 5 stations (10mins) and also to Bonn central station and Köln central station. There’s also the bus 712 that takes you to the centre of Hürth.
In front of the tram station you have a Lidl and a Rewe (grocery stores), theres also a drugstore and a bakery within 100mts of the station.
We have made this apt our beloved home and we absolutely enjoy our days here together.
Its a 44m2 apt, which seems small but its perfect for us, with a medium sized kitchen/living room, shower and toilet in separate rooms and a hallway/corridor with enough space to hang a clothes drying rack and leave shoes at the entrance.
I will be doing Eramus in Belgium for 6 months and I would love to be able to provide someone a place to stay at for that time. Also the person staying here is allowed to get Anmeldung for that amount of time. (Helpful for opening a bank account and/or extent visa and other bureaucratic shit)
So lets talk money now: I am not looking to profit from this subletting situation, so the rent will be the same amount I would pay, 290€ per month and a deposit of 300€ that you would, of course, get back. (Just precautionary)
The rent would be from 07/02/25 until 25/07/25.
Important to me would be that the person that lives here cares for my space, respects our home. I just want to be able to enjoy my time in Belgium knowing our home, my room and stuff is being enjoyed and taken care of. And be able to come back to it looking the same as how I left it.
And thats a wrap!
Thanks for reading until here, I truly love the space and I would love for someone else to be able to experience our small humble magic apartment. Specially since I know how hard it is to find housing rn in cologne.
