Sorry, no German version, since we require you to speak English (with 3 of us being not German...)
------------------
Hey up! We are writing from a wonderful house in Kirchentellinsfurt. Unfortunately, one of our crew members has left us recently, so we have an empty room from now on. The date of your moving-in is rather flexible.
The room is very spacious (30m²) and located on the ground floor. It is somewhat separated into two parts, as you can see from the images. The floor is parquet from bright wood and there are 3 windows for a lot of light. If it gets too warm in the summer, you can close the blinds or shutters. Emma left some of her furniture that she would like to sell (huge bed, dresser, small desk), so this could be especially convenient if you come to Tübingen without these things. But of course, you can also bring your own stuff.
The whole house is only ours! We have an enormous kitchen with loads of equipment (including a bread cutter and even a waffle maker). Most importantly, we have a dishwasher.
In the basement, we have a washing machine and a drier. Lots of tools to fix anything. We have refurbished one room in the basement which we commonly use as a living room to watch movies on a projector or play board games.
We are all into climbing, but during the pandemic, we couldn’t go to the gym… That’s why we have built our own bouldering wall on the attic. If you also like climbing this house is definitely for you - if not you will learn it from us, if you like.
And now the coolest part - our garden. We have a huuuge garden with a tea house, a grill, a hammock, and a shed for our bikes. There are also cherry, plum, and apple trees.
We live in Kirchentellinsfurt, 10km east of Tübingen. The connection to Tübingen is very convenient. It only takes 7 minutes by train. The trains are very regular - every half hour. There are also buses during the night. We are all cycling enthusiasts, and there is a picturesque cycling route along the Neckar from our house to Tübingen city centre which takes about 20-25 minutes.
There are lots of supermarkets (Aldi, Real, Penny, DM) and also a bakery in the village. It is close to the forest and fields, so join us for a run, if you like running. And the best feature of the village is probably our lake, which is a good place to chill and swim in the summer!
We have come from all over the world. Anita is from Italy, Pawel from Poland, Georgy is from Russia and Tobi from Germany (Sauerland). Anita is doing her internship at the MPI this summer and the rest of us are doing a Master's degree in Computational Neuroscience and will soon start a PhD (most likely in Tübingen).
As we mentioned, we all love bouldering and spend a lot of evenings at our own wall in the attic (or just chilling out on the sofa with British music). Some of us go running as well, if you like to join :) Occasionally we do movie or game nights in our cozy room in the basement.
We usually don't cook together, but every two weeks or so we do a common dinner, and in the summer it's convenient to have barbecues in the garden. With five people our kitchen can get a bit messy at times, but we all don't like when that happens, so it won't be for long.
All in all, we are a pretty active and friendly crowd, discussing a lot in the kitchen (about research or politics or anything) and we are looking for an open person who likes science and integrates well into this environment :)
If you want to take over any furniture from Emma, we will put you in touch with her :)
