Hi! Since we have three non-German speakers, this description will be all in English. Thank you for understanding!
One of our housemates decided to move out, and we now have his room available. The room is on the ground floor, spacious (20m²) and bright, with a big glass door that leads to the garden. The floor is parquet from real wood, and the shutters and blinds in all the windows/doors will allow you to keep the room temperature cool throughout the summer. The red armchair you see in the picture is from our landlady, who has allowed us to use it however we see fit! The rest of the furniture, you will have to buy, but we can help you with moving/building, so don't worry about that :)
The landlady does not live in the house with us, and we have access to the entirety of the property from the basement to the attic. We have an enormous kitchen with loads of equipment (even a dishwasher), so you don't have to worry about bringing any kitchen utensils (you can, of course, bring/get your own if you want).
The basement has a washing machine, a dryer we can use freely, and many tools if you need to fix anything. There is also a room with a projector we use to watch movies. The attic has a bouldering wall some of us built during the pandemic that you are welcome to use if you feel like it!
Our garden is beautiful and has a tea house, a grill, and a shed where we store our bikes. We sometimes do barbecues together, and you can also invite some friends over and have a barbecue with them :). We also have cherry, plum, and apple trees.
The house is in Kirchentellinsfurt (K'furt), a village 10km east of Tübingen. There is a train connection to Tübingen that takes 6 minutes and comes every 30 minutes, except on Sundays, when trains only come every hour. During the night, there is a night bus every hour. When the train isn't working (DB...) there is a replacement bus that takes around 20 minutes. There is also a cycling track that takes around 30 minutes.
Kirchentellinsfurt has a Kaufland, Aldi, Penny, and DM; in addition to local shops at the centre of the town (5-minute walk from our house) that sell anything you might need (bread, meat, veggies and fruits, pasta, etc.). The town is surrounded by fields and a forest, so you can go for a walk/run on nice days. There is also a lake nearby (30-40 mins walking), where you can swim and relax in the summer. It's really beautiful and some of us go there and have picnics :)
We are a pretty international crowd. Ari is from Catalonia, Byoungsoo is from South Korea, Georgy is from Russia and Tobi is from Germany. Ari is studying English Literature, and Byoungsoo is studying Computational Neuroscience, both in their Masters. Georgy and Tobi are doing their PhD in Neuroscience at the Max Planck Institute.
We sometimes like to cook together (especially barbecues!) and watch movies in the basement (we are always open to film suggestions!). With 4 (hopefully 5 soon!) people living together, we all work hard to keep the kitchen and other shared rooms clean, which is important for living together, so please keep it in mind!
We would consider ourselves to be active and social, having many conversations or debates in the kitchen. We are looking for someone who can fit in well in our environment, with a curious and open mind, and who contributes to the cleanness and harmony of the WG. Since three of us only speak English, we would appreciate for you to be able to converse in English (it doesn't have to be perfect, don't worry!) and to not speak German/other languages with the other housemates.
Both online and in-person viewings/interviews are welcome, just let us know what works best for you!
