It is a 3.4 meter by 5.6 meter (19 square meter) furnished room ready for you to move in and decorate whichever way you would like (except for painting walls). The entire apartment including your room has wood laminate floors. The room is the first room on the right next to the front balcony (all balconies are accessible from common spaces). You have your own built in heater and a window that faces the street.
It is the apartment on the 1st floor with two balconies one that faces the street and the other faces our private green space behind the building. We are right next to the university and you are at the 9 station as soon as you step outside the door. There are lots of bars and restaurants all around us and a rewe and an aldi a few blocks away. The green belt starts at the end of our block if you want to hang out in the park during the summer. The 9 will also take you directly to shopping in Neumarkt or altstadt at Heutmarkt.
There are three of us currently living in the apartment. Two are expats from California and one is German.
We are social room mates and like to chat in the kitchen, play board games, watch sports, have trash movie nights, or even go partying occasionally. However, we also value our own space, keeping our communal spaces clean and allowing each other a place to unwind with peace and quiet. We are laid back and prefer open communication so we can avoid confrontation.
Megan is 39 and is my (Danny, 33) sister. We enjoy a wide variety of music (pop, rock, dance- you name it), live shows, staying active and exploring Europe. We both work in gastronomy and have odd hours (but the walls are solid cement so don’t be concerned about being disturbed). We do drink alcohol and like to blow off steam every now and then. Melanie, 37, works in cultural fields and is keen to music, coffee, movies. She lived the last years in Austria, is now back in Germany.
A little about the apartment: Our living room is dark, has a projector and plenty of couch space-perfect for a tv room. Our kitchen is newly refurbished and we have a large table with 6 chairs to allow for kitchen chats or the occasional dinner party. The apartment has two bathrooms currently separated by gender; the womens bathroom also doubles as the guest bathroom. There are two balconies, a shared laundry room and a large entryway with a cubbie nook.
We enjoy each others company but also respect boundaries and personal time. We look forward to finding out more about you!
