Dein Zimmer ist das kleinste und das ruhigste der WG, weil es mit einem Fenster zum Hof (statt zur Straße) ausgestattet ist und du Wand an Wand mit unserer Küche wohnst, die bis auf gelegentliches Kühlschrankschnurren viel Rücksicht auf alle nimmt und selten Lärm erzeugt. Der Boden ist mit einem Belag in heller Holzoptik verkleidet, die Wände sind ganz blank und weiß und schon sehr gespannt darauf, was du wohl in diesen 31 Tagen mit ihnen anstellen wirst. Es gibt zwei dezente, aber ganz entzückende kleine Holzbalken unter der Decke, auf denen sich z. B. Blumentöpfe abstellen lassen, falls das deinem Geschmack entspricht. Ansonsten ist da eine etwas nichtssagende weiße Heizung unter dem - übrigens schrägen - Fenster. Wir wohnen nämlich unter dem Dach. (Wir haben sogar inoffiziellen Zugang zum Dach über unsere geheime, leider etwas sperrige Leiter im Flur, und dann mitten durch die Luke. Die Sonnenuntergänge (oder -aufgänge, falls du schon wieder oder noch immer wach bist) über den Dächern sind es sowas von wert!) Falls es Möbel oder Kisten oder andere Stücke gibt, die du gern mitbringen willst, und die du in deinem Zimmer aufgrund der Enge nicht artgerecht halten kannst, dann heißt unser großzügiger Flur sie gern willkommen. Einen Keller, der nicht ganz trocken ist, gibt es auch.
Your room is the smallest and most quiet one of our WG, because the window faces the courtyard (instead of the street) and your neighbor next wall is our very respectful kitchen that doesn't cause any noise except from occasional fridge-purring. The floor is covered in a light wood-looking flooring, the walls are very white and blank and already very curios what you'll make out of them for your 31 days between them. There are two subtle, but adorable wooden beams right under the ceiling on which you can place, for example, flower pots if that suits your taste. Besides, there's this rather vacuous heating under the - by the way slanted - window. We're living under the roof. (There's even an unofficial access to the roof from our secret, unfortunately a little bulky ladder in the corridor and straight trough the roof hatch. The sunsets (or -rises if you're already or still awake) over the roof tops are so worth it!) If there's furniture or boxes or other pieces you'd like to bring to our place but can't keep species-appropriate because of the narrow room, rest assured that our very generous corridor will welcome them. There's also a (not fully dry) basement compartment.
Schleußig, also alles grün, viele weitläufige Parks rundum (Auwald, Volkspark), hübsche Straßen und natürlich der Kanal! Ideal auch für Fahrrad- oder Bootfahrten in alle Himmelsrichtungen. Wenn du gern bequem einkaufst, dann warten zahlreiche Bäckereien, ein Konsum und ein ALDI auf dich, außerdem Apotheken, ein Bio-Laden und ein sehr vertrauenswürdiger Späti namens Speisekammer, der dich auch spät abends und an Sonn- und Feiertagen versorgt (auch eigentlich alles bio und so). An dieser Stelle möchte ich Maza Pita erwähnen (leckere, geldbeutelschonende syrische Küche) - nur zwei Minuten entfernt (und das auch nur wegen der Ampel).
Wenn du nicht bequem bist, dann steht dir natürlich die große weite Welt der Leipziger Geschäfte offen. Ich persönlich bin ein bisschen in die Karl-Heine-Straße verliebt, aber die Könneritzer Straße ist auch nicht zu unterschätzen kulinarisch.
Spaziergänge bereiten hier auf jeden Fall Vergnügen.
Schleußig, so it's very green, there are many spacious parks (Auwald, Volkspark), pretty streets and, of course, the canal! It's ideal for bike or boat tours in all possible directions. If you like to do your shopping comfortably, then you'll find Konsum, ALDI, various bakeries, pharmacies, an organic shop and a very trustworthy Späti called Speisekammer (which can take care of you at nighttime or on Sundays and holidays, also organic) close by. I don't want to leave Maza Pita unmentioned - a tasty, wallet-friendly Syrian cuisine only two minutes within walking distance (and only because of the traffic light).
If you don't insist on absolute comfort there's the whole wide world of shops and stores in Leipzig waiting for you. I've personally fallen in love with Karl-Heine-Street, I must admit, but that doesn't mean the Könneritzer Straße should be underestimated.
Taking walks is definitely a pleasure here.
Die WG besteht im August aus Lara (25), Elea (3) und mir (Elisa, 26). In den ersten paar Tagen wird Audrey (27) aus den USA in Laras Zimmer unterkommen, aber nur sehr kurzfristig. Dann kehrt nämlich Lara aus dem wohlverdienten Sommerurlaub zurück.
Lara ist Theaterpädagogin, ich studiere Psychologie in Teilzeit und Elea ist im August endlich nicht mehr bloß Dinosaurier-Expertin, sondern auch Kindergarten-Kind. Unser Zusammenleben gestalten wir sehr kommunikativ und familiär und verhandeln dabei bei Bedarf neu, weil uns sehr am Herzen liegt, dass alle sich wohlfühlen und das gemeinsame Wohnen für niemanden zur Herausforderung wird. Wir sind gern füreinander da, würde ich behaupten.
In August, the WG will consist of Lara (25), Elea (3) and me (Elisa, 26). During the first few days of the month, Audrey (27) from the USA will be accommodated in Lara's room, but very short-term. Because then Lara will return from her well-deserved summer vacation.
Lara is a theatre-pedagogue, I'm a part-time-student of psychology and Elea will finally be not only an expert of dinosaurs but also a participant of kindergarten in August. We live together very communicatively and familiarly and we regularly renegotiate if necessary, because it's important for us that we all feel good with each other and that living together doesn't become challenging for anyone. We like to be there for each other, I'd claim.
