More information about me

My name is Frieder Tschesche, and I’m a 29-year-old PhD student in political economy from Berlin, in the northeast of Germany. I will be moving to London for a research stay at SOAS University during the second term (January to April) and am looking for a short-term, and furnished accommodation from January to March/April. We can also swap our rooms. I live a shared flat in Berlin Kreuzberg (Bergmann-Kiez) we one more roommate.

I feel fortunate to have a PhD scholarship, which allows me the flexibility to work in various settings. I tend to spend a lot of time in libraries to keep my home environment relaxed and free from work overload. When the weather allows, I love being outdoors, whether it’s for a walk, sports, or just enjoying the city.

My research focuses on power relations between central and shadow banks—a topic I can happily discuss for hours (though I promise I know when to stop). Beyond academics, I enjoy organizing a music festival in Germany (chimaera festival) and other cultural and educational events, work as a DJ, teaching in Rostock, and engaging in activities like chess, bouldering, and, of course, reading. I am political interested and left-minded person.

I lived in an intergenerational, non-profit housing project (maybe you know Mietshäusersyndikat) for 10 years, which we bought last year so I’m familiar with communal living and highly value a respectful and clean shared living environment. I am calm, considerate, and easygoing, and I always appreciate a good conversation and a drink while also respecting others’ privacy.

If you want we can meet each digitally. I have all the requested paper stuff and I am flexible regarding the duration of renting as I have friends in London.
