Das Zimmer, das vom Anfang März bis zum 9. Mai frei wird, gehört zu einer WG mit insgesamt 6 Personen und befindet sich in einem Studentenwohnheim. Dadurch gibt es hier viele nette und aufgeschlossene Leute :) Das Zimmer ist möbliert (ich bin in der Zeit wegen eines Praktikums nicht da). Es hat ein (sehr bequemes) Bett, ein Sofa, einen Schreibtisch, eine Kleiderschrank-Regal-Kombination, jede Menge Bücher (die meisten auf Deutsch) und, last but not least, eine Gitarre, die gespielt werden will! Das Zimmer ist 14 m² groß und bietet damit genügend Platz für deine Sachen oder um ein paar Leute einzuladen.

The room, which will be free from the beginning of march to the 9th of may, is part of a WG of 6 people and located in a student dorm. In consequence this means that there are plenty of friendly and interested people around :) The room itself is furnished (I'll just be away for an internship). It has a (very comfortable) bed, a couch, a desk, a wardrobe-shelf-sort-of-thing, plenty of books, of which most are in German, and last, but not least, a guitar which likes to be played! It is 14 m^2 and hence provides enough space for your belongings or to hang out with a few people.
Du wohnst direkt auf dem Campus und damit in der Nähe des Waldes. Dort fließt auch die Ilmenau, ein kleiner, idyllischer Fluss, der im Frühling echt idyllisch ist. Mit dem Fahrrad bist du in 10–15 Minuten in der Innenstadt, genauso schnell geht es mit dem Bus, der direkt vor dem Haus hält.
Unsere WG hat einen riesigen Flur mit Sofas und einem Klavier, und auch unsere große Küche bietet genug Platz, um sich zusammenzusetzen und lange Abende zu genießen!
Außerdem gibt es im Keller eine Abstellmöglichkeit für dein Fahrrad, falls du es sicherer unterstellen möchtest – ich selbst habe es immer draußen abgestellt und das hat auch gut funktioniert.

You'll live right on campus and hence directly next to the woods, where you will also find the Ilmenau, the small lovely river that offers a refreshing bath on summer days. With a bicycle it will take 10-15 minutes to get downtown, same goes for the bus which stops right in front of the house.
The WG has a huuuuuuge hallway with couches and a piano, and our large kitchen also provides a lot of space to get together and enjoy long evenings!
Additionally, there is a basement where you can park your bike if you would like to store it more safely than in front of the house (which always worked fine for me).
Wir wohnen sehr gerne zusammen und interessieren uns auch für das Leben der anderen. Ein weiterer Aspekt ist, dass wir fast alle Lebensmittel miteinander teilen, weil es für uns viel praktischer ist.
Natürlich musst du da nicht mitmachen! Du kannst genauso gut dein eigenes Ding machen und deine Zeit allein genießen – das ist völlig in Ordnung.
Da du aber einige Wochen bei uns wohnen wirst, erwarten wir lediglich, dass du dich an der üblichen Reinigung beteiligst – das sollte weder überraschend noch besonders nervig sein ;)
Während deiner Zeit wirst du mit Sophia, Dzopa, Nine, Franzi und Lea zusammenwohnen. Alle sind super lieb, verbringen gerne Zeit miteinander und genießen für eine entspannte und angenehme Atmosphäre in der WG.

We enjoy living together very much and are quite interested in each others lifes. Another aspect is that we share practically all food because it is just so much easier to coordinate.
Yet, of course, you do not have to participate in any of this! You can very much have your own stuff and enjoy your time alone - that is just as fine.
As you will live in the WG for quite some weeks, though, the only expectation is that you participate in the usual cleaning, which should be neither surprising nor too annoying ;)
During your time, you will share the WG with Sophia, Dzopa, Nine, Franzi and Lea, which are all super lovely folks, love to hang out with each other and just have a comfortable time living together.
