Hey, endlich ist WG-Gesucht.de in mehreren US-Städten verfügbar!

I found this site very useful for finding nice apartments shared with good roommates while I was in Germany. Unfortunately, here in the USA we don't have such a nice system for finding people to live with - our best alternatives, Facebook groups and Craigslist, tend to focus only on the characteristics of the apartment itself and not of the roommates. In other words, if you aren't moving in with friends you already know, it is difficult to get anything but a "Zweck-WG." There are also sites which spring up now and then which focus on roommate matching, but none have taken hold. Most try to monetize by requiring payment for the full use of the site, greatly cutting down on their user base and thus the value of their service.

I'm happy to see that WG-gesucht finally allows one to create postings in many different US cities. I really find this platform much better than the options that exist in the US for finding roommates, and I hope that the concept spreads.

(I filled my 150 words not with a personal description, but with the above commentary, because I don't expect anyone to come across this looking for a Tucson roommate. If I'm wrong about that, send me a message! I'm a soon-to-be recent college grad who is looking for roommates as she moves off of the campus and into the working world.)
