I will have to say goodbye to my beloved room and flatmates because I am moving in with my partner. So, I am helping them find a lovely and reliable flatmate :)
The room is 25 sqm. It has two large windows facing south. It is often sunny and warm but still tolerable in the summer -- the two big windows are perfect for airing out. Since the room is next to the kitchen, it has easy access to the couch in the common area, and some of the furniture you see in the photos are for sale. Please send me a message and we can discuss the details.
IMPORTANT: The room is a walk-through room into the kitchen. There is a curtain through the room, which forms a hallway between the two doors. For us, this has never caused any problems, and we have always felt comfortable. But we understand that a walk-through-room situation is not for everybody. So, please make sure to consider this before sending a message, or just ask about how we handle it if you feel unsure :)
The apartment is just above the border from the 9th to the 18th district, and the public transport connection is excellent:
- 1 minute to the Martinstraße stop (40 & 41 - with these, you are at Schottentor in 10 minutes)
- U6 Währingerstraße/Volksoper: 5 minutes (walk) or 2 stops (tram)
- S-Bahn Gersthof: 2 stops (tram)
- city bike station nearby
Türkenschanzpark, Währinger Park, Sternwartepark, and Kutschkermarkt are closeby. There are also cafés, restaurants, pharmacies, grocery stores (Spar, Penny, Hofer, Billa, Denn's), many shops, and a few bars. Overall, it is one of the nicest areas in Vienna :)
Iva (26) is a lovely and active guy who is into sports, politics, and music in general. He enjoys biking around the city, reading, and cooking collectively. He is from Georgia and currently studying a master degree in WU.
Berker (26) is a quiet and sweet guy who loves chess and watching cooking videos (although he doesn't cook often :)). He is also slowly improving his German skills. He is from Turkey and starting his PhD in computer science at ISTA.
Both are delightful people to have around and great flatmates -- considerate, reliable, tidy, but uncomplicated. Even though everyone has their own space, we enjoy cooking or hanging out together from time to time.
Since this is an international flat, the common language in the WG is English.
The ideal move-in date would be June 1st, but we are flexible. Anytime between June 1st and June 15th is possible.
Keeping the flat clean is important to all of us. We have a weekly cleaning schedule to manage this, but it doesn't matter how we exactly do it as long as the apartment stays reasonably clean and we share the workload.
Every January, we have to get the heater serviced, which costs about €35-40 per person.
The energy costs are included in the utilities. Currently, we pay €120 per person per month, but our actual consumption is about half of this, so we expect a significant decrease (and reimbursement) in the next bill.
