Hi everyone!

Since my flatmate is moving abroad, I am looking for a new flatmate for a 2-person flatshare in a beautiful and bright 3.5-room apartment in Witikon from 1 February 2025 (+/-). The flat is located in the center of Witikon, 1 minute from a bus stop with a direct connection to central Zurich/HB (20 minutes), and directly next to a small path that leads to meadows, the old village center of Witikon with beautiful views of the lake and mountains, and lots of nice forests for walks, running, and biking. Coop, Migros, Aldi, and more shops are within walking distance (between 2 and 10 minutes).

Your room would be quite spacious (around 16 square meters) and partially furnished (with a wardrobe and a small chest of drawers, not pictured). If you wish, you could additionally take over a 1,40m bed and a small desk and chair from my flatmate for a small price. The room faces Northeast and has morning sun.
The flat also has a large living room, a very nice balcony facing South (with a view of meadows and trees), a kitchen with all amenities (including dishwasher) and a bathroom with a bathtub. We also have a very large storage space under the roof and there is a separate bike storage garage (with the option to rent a parking spot if needed).

The rent includes all side costs (heating, water, washing machine, Wifi and electricity). As always, Serafe is billed separately on an annual basis.

Since we are subtenants and renting the apartment from a very nice main tenant, the contract is limited until about June/July 2026. For our main tenant, it would be important that you are a non-smoker, have an up-to-date "Betreibungsregisterauszug", a private liability insurance (Haftpflicht) and can provide some form of financial documents (I sent my income records), so that she can forward everything to the landlords.

I'm a 29-years-old PhD student in Environmental Policy at ETH and originally from Germany (I speak German, English, French and am learning Catalan). I work in home office about 2 days a week. I enjoy going hiking, making music, cooking (I really love cooking and have lots of over-the-top equipment), going for walks and runs in the forest, crafty things like knitting and painting (with limited talent), and being with friends. I am quite independent, but enjoy cooking, chatting, or sitting together with a coffee, glass of wine or cup of tea every once in a while, especially if sun and balcony are involved. Since I am in a long-distance relationship, my partner will be visiting every now and then, and I am also frequently away. I am quite cordial, but also enjoy and respect having personal space. Cleanliness is quite important to me in shared spaces. I also appreciate open but cordial communication :)
