Looking for a room in a shared flat or house

Hello everyone! 😊
My name is Ilenia, I’m 33 years old, and I will be moving to Göttingen in June/July to start a PhD in Conservation Biology, focusing on lynx ecology and conservation. I’m looking for a friendly and open-minded WG where we can share more than just a living space!
A bit about me:
I’m passionate about nature and the outdoors—hiking, climbing, skiing, riding horse, cycling and swimming in the sea are some of my favourite activities. But I also love quieter moments, like crocheting, and getting lost in a good book. I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and exchanging ideas and cultures. I appreciate deep conversations as much as fun nights out at concerts, festivals, or just chilling with flatmates. I love spending time with friends —whether it’s over a cup of tea, doing sport activities, at a concert, or sitting around a fire with a guitar.

I would love to find a shared apartment or house with an open-minded, relaxed atmosphere where we can enjoy time together, whether it’s having tea, sharing a meal, or going out, while also respecting personal space. I’d also love to share projects and activities with my flatmates, and I’m open to different living situations, including a community-style WG (If my work schedule allows it). It would be amazing to have a garden or a balcony where we could grow a small vegetable patch, have plants, relax, and enjoy evenings together.
Most importantly, I’m looking for a space built on respect, dialogue, and sharing—without racism or discrimination.
I’m writing in English because I don’t speak German yet, but I would like to learn at least the basics, since I plan to live in Germany for several years. I speak Italian (native), English, and Spanish.
I’m really looking forward to meeting new people and starting this new chapter of my life! Since I’m currently in Italy, we won’t be able to meet in person before June/July, but I’d love to have a video call with anyone interested in living together. 😊
