Hello! From October 4th - November 17th we are looking for 1 person (priority for FLINTA folks) to sublet a room in our shared home. We are Francesco (he/him), Celia (they/she), Kaya (she/her), Toni (he/him), Clara (she/they), Nat (they) and Eli (she/her)- a mixed group between 27-37 of different life circumstances, characters, nationalities, professions and zodiacs, but we all share the idea of communal living and simultaneously value our friendships. We share our food, have dinners together or parties, and hang out in the living room as much as we can, but are also busy with our lives sometimes or might be absent traveling for a while...and on this last note -- Eli and Celia are going away for some vacation time and that's why we're looking for a 6-week sublet!
The sublet is split between Eli and Celia's room, as it is easier for us to have fewer sublets for longer periods we are hoping to find someone who would be comfortable living in one space for 2.5 weeks before hopping literally right next door for the rest.
The flat is beautiful, with a large living space and kitchen where we all congregate and meet to eat, talk, and enjoy together. We sometimes share meals, host parties or dinners, or cozy movie nights. It's a relaxed communal environment with lovely people. For some people, their door is always open, for others they prefer to have privacy, whatever feels good. The rooms are beautiful loft spaces with large windows, these two rooms get some gorgeous afternoon light. The flat is located on Hermannstraße in Schillerkiez, tucked behind so it's very quiet and peaceful. Within the neighborhood, you have access to a variety of food stores, bakeries, cafés, and bars, and you're five minutes from Hasenheide and Templehofer Feld.
We share a CSA farm box of fresh vegetables, which is included in the rent alongside utilities. We're mostly vegan and vegetarian, but you can cook and eat meat if you want. We share our food, and often cook for each other but it's not mandatory, and you can always put your name on your food if you want. We engage in a solidarity system where we each have weekly cleaning tasks, and it is a prerequisite for your sublease that you are willing to support taking care of our home.
We're looking for someone who wants to live, even for a short time, in our loving community, who is open, a kind, respectful communicator, and generally open-minded. All genders, backgrounds, and orientations are welcome. Again, priority for FLINTA folks. It's OK if the dates don't perfectly align with what you need (they are very specific and a bit awkward), but unfortunately we cannot offer space outside of this period.
Please write us with your interest! The first communication is via me, Celia, whose room you'd be living in for the first few weeks. Ideally, it would be nice to have a casual get-to-know-each-other vibe check/tour of the apartment, but as everyone has busy lives and this is last minute, I will schedule phone calls first with either me or Eli and we go from there :)
