Hello everyone :)
Due to a last minute cancellation, I am subletting the biggest room (40 m2) in my cozy & spacious beautiful altbau wohnung. Its located in Mainzer Str. in the heart of Friedrichshain. The rent includes all the costs, including electricity & fiber-optic high-speed WiFi so you do not have to pay anything extra.
The room itself has enormous space with high ceilings and large windows. It carries a timeless vintage vibe with a lovely wooden floor, grand-scaled wooden doors, a classic chandelier and beautiful historic detailing with stuccos. There is even a gazebo style part of the room that extends out of the building towards the street that used to be a working station with indoor plants. It's recently refurbished with a new heat insulation and hence you won't be feeling cold inside like other Altbau.
Common areas:
There is a huge bathroom with a separate rain shower and a bathtub. In addition there is also a separate guest toilet. Kitchen is in a separate room with a lot of space and a high bar long table to eat, work or hangout. Kitchen is fully equipped with a pantry, an induction stove, an oven, a fridge and a dishwasher. There is also a cozy wooden balcony with a swing chair just adjacent to it. There is also a 2-in-1 robo vacuum cleaner with a mop in the house which comes in handy to clean easily.
Please note that there are not much furniture left in this room after the last person moved out. No bed or mattress. Just a sideboard, a cupboard, a plant and a book shelf which you can use. Ah there is also a massage chair which is pretty nice. I am happy to help you arrange a bed and anything else necessary.
There is also another smaller 22m2 empty room left in the house (check the photos). If you'd like to rent it out together, we can talk about a fair reduced price.

The location is one of the best things about this place. It's right in the center of Friedrichshain surrounding the popular Boxhagner platz & Simon-dach str. So many cozy cafes, bars and restaurants around the area. I could offer you many suggestions like Jian Bing Town Restaurant, C'est la vie Cafe or Sohnemann bar. It's a delight to go for a stroll in this area - one of my favorite things to do. In my opinion after 8 years in Berlin and 4 years here, its the best place to be.
There are 3 supermarkets across the street (Edeka, Netto, Lidl and also a DM). East side mall & Ring center shopping malls are close by.
Less than 2 minutes walk to the U Samariterstr u-bahn station that connects you to U5. 8 mins ride to Alexanderplatz. 16 mins ride to Hauptbahnof. Mitte, Prenzlauer Berg, Kreuzberg are easy to reach from here.
I am a 33 year old busy product manager / entrepreneur who lives in one of the rooms in the apartment. I am cheerful, open-minded & easy to talk to, but i also appreciate the privacy & personal space of myself and everyone in the house. The only disturbance you might have from me is if I sometimes jam a little in my guitar. But I try to be quiet as much as possible.
