I share an apartment with my cousin and I will be sub-renting my room from July 1 till February 1 due to a trip around the world. The room is 26m2, while the total apartment size is 80m2. All the furniture on the photos will be available and free for you to use. You share a smaller room of 12m2 with my flatmate where you have two closets for your clothes and the possibility to store some extra stuff and dry your laundry. On ground floor we have an extra store room for the bikes. The kitchen has plenty of storeroom and you can use all the cutlery and utensils (pans, plates, cups etc, and a slow juicer and food steamer), so you don’t need to bring your own. The shower has recently been renovated.
The rent of 542 Euro includes gas, water, electric, local waste taxes and internet.

- A bicycle (you’ll be in the Netherlands, you’ll need one!)
- Free temporary access to my Netflix account (I won’t use it anyway)
- Washing machine

The apartment is located in a flat in Vinkhuizen (a district in Groningen), which means it’s close by the Zernike university campus (5-10 minutes with the bike). There are four supermarkets close by (5 minutes with the bike) and there is a bus stop almost in front of the building which can take you to the centre or the station. Cycling to the centre of the city takes you about 15 minutes. If you’re into sports than there is the ACLO sport centre at the Zernike campus (5 minutes with the bike) where you can do all sorts of courses or fitness with other students for a very low price.
I have one roommate who happens to be my cousin. He studies physics at the University of Groningen. He is a relaxed and tidy guy.
There will be a contract drawn up for the room. Important note: in addition to the first monthly rent, you will have to pay the rent for the last month in advance, as well as a fully refundable security deposit of 300 Euro. That makes a total of 1384 Euro for the first month (July). Please keep that in mind! The deposit may also be paid in the second month (August).
