Hi! A private room in our four-person shared WG is available starting 01 February. The apartment is very large -- 110 m2, with a large kitchen, living room, and an extra room for storage and/or for guests to sleep in. We also have a shared bathroom with a shower/bathtub.
The room itself is rectangle shaped and exactly 10.86 m2. I fit a queen bed, desk, bookshelf, and closet. I am hoping to sell the furniture in the room to the new tenant for 100 Euro.
The flat is located right near Saalbahnhof, and around six minutes from Spittelplatz. City Center is a 15 minute walk, 10 by tram or bus, and less by bike. There are two grocery stores within a six minute walk, Edeka and Lidl. The Saale is about a five minute walk, with a nice place for sitting and swimming in the river during the warmer months.
There are three great flatmates that come with the room. All of them are German, but they speak great English (despite their doubts). I am the token international, and the flatmates have expressed interest in having another international person take my place, but they are open to whoever is the best fit. Overall, the flatmates are very chill and nice, we like having flat dinners or movie nights but also having our own personal time sometimes. The flatmates are:
Leonie, a Master's student and arts and crafts extraordinaire, who is finishing her thesis in Gesellschaftstheorie. She loves DNB and aperol spritzes, and is always good for creative pursuits.
Maria, a therapist-in-training who is done with her schooling and doing her praktikum now. She is always down for a movie night or some painting.
Joni, a master's student and the most recent addition to the flat. He is already involved with KuFA around Jena and is always a bright smile around the flat. Plus like a good German, he keeps the flat stocked with a crate of beer.
