🍃🌞🌊 Room in calm shared-house with garden & lake nearby

From the station Köln-Holweide you walk 10min to the house, the best way is walking through the small park next to the s-bahn station. The area where we live is pretty calm and relaxed. In the summer there are a lot of green areas blooming up. There is also a lake (just 15 min walking or 5 min by bike), where you can go swimming, have a walk, jogging or make a small bike tour around.
Taking the train from Köln-Holweide (S11) you need 5minutes to Mühlheim, 10minutes to Hbf and 15min to Hansaring. There are also busses going regularly in different directions. Driving to some areas like Ehrenfeld you need more time, so it's good to take a look and ask yourself where you go often and how much time you want to invest.

In Höhenhaus you live in a relaxed and calm area with many family houses. To calm down from the noises and hustle of the city it's perfect and your still close to the city. Just around the corner (5min walking) there is everything you need for daily life like: pharmacy, banks, supermarkets, bakerys, kiosks, snack points :)

Von der Haltestelle Köln-Holweide sind es 10min bis zum Haus, der beste Weg ist durch den kleinen Park an der S-Bahn Station. Die Wohngegend ist sehr ruhig und entspannt. Im Sommer ist es hier richtig grün. Zudem ist von unserem Haus der nahegelegene See, der sich super zum Baden, spazieren gehen und Fahrrad fahren oder joggen anbietet nur circa 15min zu Fuß und 5min mit dem Fahrrad entfernt. Mit der S-Bahn fährst du 5min bis nach Mühlheim, 10min bis zum Hbf und 15min bis Hansaring. Manche Veedel wie z.b. Ehrenfeld sind leider weiter weg, daher ist es gut sich die Verbindungen anzuschauen und sich zu fragen wo muss ich häufig hin und wie viel Zeit möchte ich dafür investieren.
Auch Busse fahren regelmäßig in versch. Richtungen.

Du bist in Höhenhaus in einem ruhigen, entspannten Wohnviertel aus vielen Familienhäusern. Der Ort ist perfekt zum Runterkommen vom Trubel und hustle der Stadt, gleichzeitig bist du nicht weit weg vom Zentrum.
Zudem sind bei uns direkt um die Ecke (circa 5min zu Fuß) alle Dinge die Mensch so täglich braucht: Supermärkte, Apotheken, Bäckereien, Kiosks, sowohl Sparkasse als auch Volksbank.

In the house we are five people permanently living. There is one person, who is just sometimes in the house. You would live mostly with Fred (she/her), Luca (he/him), Kimmy (they/them) and Möhre (no pronouns). All of them are super nice and friendly with different hobbies, skills and passions. Overall trying to realize themselves in different fields of live. Art, veganism, social work and activism are just some topics people are interested in. Overall its quite calm in daily house life. We are eager to support each other, but are no house project. There is a lot of space to try stuff, for. e.g. a little studio for handcrafting in the cellar, a garage (including a nice table tennis board), a garden where we did planting and also possibility to make fire to gather around. So you are invited to use the space.

Most of the people here do their stuff & have their projects. So I meet people most of the time in the kitchen having food & small talk, in the garden, going containering together, shopping or working in the living room. In regular plenum (every two weeks) we share how we feel, needs, wishes and problems concerning the house. It helps to keep us updated about our lives and the house structure and we also try to spend time together, focusing it sometimes more or less.

When we cook, we try to cook for everyone. What is important to mention: the house is vegan. There is a shared food and coffee box, where we put money in. We share the food and have a plan for the house tasks. Because there is a lot of space, there is sometimes stuff to do and care about. But no worries, we try to support each other and also see how much ressources everyone has and try to balance it out.

In der WG sind wir zu fünft. Hin und wieder ist auch eine sechste Person da, die sich jedoch gerade in einem anderen Projekt verwirklicht, daher nur selten im Haus ist. Du würdest zur Zwischenmiete mit Fred (she/her), Luca (he/him), Möhre (all pronouns) und Kimmy (they) wohnen. Alle sind super nett und haben unterschiedliche Hobbies, Fähig-/Fertigkeiten und Leidenschaften. Von Kunst über Veganismus, Soziale Arbeit und Politarbeit findest du hier Menschen, die sich in unterschiedlichen Themenfeldern verwirklichen. Im Haus ist es allgemein eher ruhig. Wir sind definitiv keine Zweck WG aber auch kein Gemeinschaftsprojekt. Menschen im Haus haben unterschiedliche zeitliche Verfügbarkeiten & Verpflichtungen. Es gibt viel Platz, um Sachen auszuprobieren, zum Beispiel in der Werkstatt im Keller oder in der Garage, im Garten beim Pflanzen oder Gärtnern oder zum Feuer machen. Menschen freuen sich, wenn du Lust hast was auszuprobieren und die Räume nutzt. Im Haus machen trotzdem gern Menschen ihr Ding. Meistens hab ich mich beim Essen, Kaffee trinken oder zum Gärtnern, containern mit Mitbewohnis getroffen. Ein Plausch in der Küche ist auch immer drin. Es gibt regelmäßige WG-Plena, die alle zusammenbringen und Raum zum Austausch und für Befindlichkeiten gibt.

Gekocht wird immer vegan (wir sind ein veganer Haushalt!) und meist für alle. Es gibt eine gemeinsame Essens- und Kaffeekasse und die Aufgaben im Haus werden im Wechsel alle paar Wochen aufgeteilt. Da das Haus groß ist, kann da immer Mal was anfallen. Aber keine Angst du wirst da nicht allein gelassen, sondern wir versuchen uns da gegenseitig zu supporten.

It would be nice if you have solid communication skills and already experience with shared living. Respecting each other and being able to reflect things, is important to us all. Furthermore most of the time we speak english in the house.

Sexism, Ableism, homophobic, transphobic, queerphobic; in general racist and discriminatory statements and behaviours will be not tolerated in this house. For us it is important that everyone feels welcome and seen, we are also open to talk about discomforts and socialized structures that reproduce behaviours of exclusion.
Although you come for interim rent it is important for us that you seen yourself as part of the house and its structures and members living here, therefore its also important that you participate in the plenary.

Es wäre toll, wenn du kommunikationsfähig und selbstständig bist, am besten auch mit WG Erfahrung. Gegenseitiger Respekt und Reflektionsfähigkeit sind uns allen wichtig. Im Haus wird zudem meist Englisch gesprochen.

Sexismus, Ableismus, homophobe, transphobe, queerfeindliche, rassistische und diskriminierende Aussagen und Verhaltensweisen haben bei uns keinen Raum. Es ist uns wichtig ein gemeinsames Wohnen zu gestalten in dem sich alle wohl fühlen und wir auch unangenehmes, emotionales oder auch sozialisiertes Verhalten besprechen können. Auch wenn du zur Zwischenmiete da bist, ist es uns wichtig, dass du Lust auf das Haus mit seinen Strukturen und Menschen hast, dich damit auch an den Plena beteiligst.
