Together as a shared flat we live in a large house with a garden. This also includes a garden shed, which is perfect for parties or cozy (barbecue) evenings (thanks to a small heater in the shed, this is even possible in the cold Siegen winter). 😄
The house has a spacious attic where you can store your stuff and where we like to dry our laundry in summer.
Our kitchen is well equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine, fridge, blender etc. and there are three bathrooms, which has the advantage that you rarely get in each other's way. We also have a living room on the second floor, which will also be equipped with a TV and soon with a Playstation.
The house is only a 10-minute walk from the university. You can get there quickly via the nearby forest. If you prefer to take the bus to the university, you can also use the UX1, which is only a 2-minute walk away.
But now more about your potential room: it's very cozy and you can fit everything you need for living. As it has two skylights, there's always plenty of light during the day.
As far as the wall design is concerned, there are no limits to your creativity. You could also remove/paint over the striped wallpaper from the previous tenant.
The photo showing the white desk is from the beginning of this year and the interior has changed a lot since then. However, as it is to be handed over unfurnished and empty, it will be empty again when you move in, so it doesn't really make any difference. Just don't be surprised when you view the apartment that all the furniture is different😄
The best way to get a real idea of the room and the shared flat is to just come and have a look.
We are located in the Weidenau district and very close to the university!
The “Weidenau Krankenhaus” stop is about a 2-minute walk away, where the UX1, R10, C130 and R51 lines stop.
The UX1 takes you to Campus AR within 10 minutes and to the Siegen central bus station in 8 minutes. The other lines also take you quickly to Weidenau ZOB (approx. 5 min) and Siegen ZOB (15 min), provided the Siegen buses run as they should. 😄
The nearest Rewe supermarket is a 7-minute walk away.
By car, for which you can usually find a parking space right in front of the house, you can be in the city center, the university or the nearest supermarket within 1-2 minutes anyway.
If you like being out and about in the countryside, you can reach the nearby forest in 15 minutes.
You are welcomed and would live peacefully. Everyone here are students so you do not feel excluded if you are a one. You would meet very open and friendly neighbors. Life is lived simple here :)
We're not a purpose-built flat share, but don't feel under pressure. It's important to us that everyone can always be there, but no one is angry if you want to chill alone in your room or don't feel like it. The best conversations happen anyway when you bump into each other in your jogging bottoms in the kitchen making dinner and shortly afterwards find yourself in deep life advice sessions or funny, nonsensical everyday conversations. It's pretty cramp-free here in my estimation, so don't worry, no matter how socially inclined you are :)
The utilities are charged at a flat rate. So there is no risk of unplanned increases in monthly service charges.
