Kleines Zimmer in 5er Farm-WG / Small room in 5-person farm shared house

Our house is located on a plot of land to which belongs a total of three residential houses (our house, the house of the landlords and the house of the landlord's mom). In addition, some chickens live here, a pack of dogs and cats. The sheep, which also belong to the farm, are spread out on some meadows in Töplitz and around Potsdam, and are sometimes visiting to mow the property.

The farm is located on the island of Töplitz directly on one of the Havel lakes. The bus takes 15 minutes to the train station in Golm (Science Park and University Golm, as well as the possibility to change to Potsdam and Berlin) and 20 minutes to the train station Werder (change to the fast RE to Potsdam and Berlin). By bike it takes you 7 to 8 kilometers to get to Golm as well as to Werder. Travel time to Berlin central station is about 1 hour 30 minutes.

On the island there is a small supermarket for the essentials, a small organic food store that opens twice a week, a junk store where you can get all sorts of things, a butchery, a bakery and a dairy farmer who sells dairy products directly from the farm once a week. At the right time of year, you can also buy vegetables from the neighbors' gardens in many places. Eggs are available directly from our henhouse ;)

The island has a lot to offer for nature lovers with lots of water and moorland.

Unser Haus befindet sich auf einem Grundstück, zu dem insgesamt drei Wohnhäuser gehören (unser Haus, das Haus der Vermieter und das Haus der Mutter des Vermieters). Außerdem leben hier einige Hühner, ein Rudel Hunde und Katzen. Die Schafe, die ebenfalls zum Hof gehören, sind auf einigen Wiesen in Töplitz und rund um Potsdam verteilt und kommen manchmal zum Mähen des Grundstücks vorbei.

Der Hof befindet sich auf der Insel Töplitz direkt an einem der Havelseen. Mit dem Bus ist man in 15 Minuten am Bahnhof Golm (Science Park und Universität Golm, sowie Umsteigemöglichkeit nach Potsdam und Berlin) und in 20 Minuten am Bahnhof Werder (Umsteigen in den schnellen RE nach Potsdam und Berlin). Mit dem Fahrrad sind es sowohl nach Golm als auch nach Werder 7 bis 8 Kilometer. Die Fahrtzeit zum Berliner Hauptbahnhof beträgt ca. 1 Stunde 30 Minuten.

Auf der Insel gibt es einen kleinen Supermarkt für das Nötigste, einen kleinen Bioladen, der zweimal in der Woche öffnet, einen Trödelladen, in dem man alles Mögliche bekommt, eine Metzgerei, eine Bäckerei und einen Milchbauern, der einmal in der Woche Milchprodukte direkt vom Hof verkauft. Zur richtigen Jahreszeit kann man an vielen Ständen auch Gemüse aus den Gärten der Nachbarn kaufen. Eier gibt es direkt aus unserem Hühnerstall ;)

Für Naturliebhaber hat die Insel mit viel Wasser und Moorland viel zu bieten.

Anna is a student of primary school teaching (maths and sports) at the University of Potsdam.
Anna likes: cookies, eating other flatmates' food, baking, doing handicrafts for her schoolchildren, the sea.

Demi is an PhD student in planetary meteorology in Berlin.
Likes: Hiking and running, board games, rain (and floding the group chat with weather statistics), politics.
What Demi doesn't like: blue cheese, politics.

Leonie is a freelencing botanist and student for ecology and conservation.
Likes: botanizing, sleeping in her car, reading, playing football and Doppelkopf
Likes not: Maumau

Nico is a software developer.
What he likes: vegan food, animals, playing the drums, bicycling
What he doesn't like: IPA, shopping

We are a rather unusual flat-sharing community. Because of the farm life, there is always the possibility to start or continue a project in- or outside the house. This place has a lot of potential if you are willing to put in the work. At the moment, it's usually only our available time that prevents us from being fast ;) Since more shoulders can handle more cool projects, we would be happy if our new flatmates would also bring motivation for one or the other joint project.

During the week, we usually only see eachother spontaneously in the kitchen or the garden. So far, this has been fine for us and is due to the fact that we all have a busy everyday life. Outside of working hours, however, we often get together in the kitchen to talk, plan, cook or play. We think that spending time together is just as important as having undisturbed peace and quiet, and we hope that our new flatmates will enrich our flat-sharing life.

Besides our private space, there is also work to be done on the shared part of the farm. For example, we partly take care of the chicken and have fresh eggs every day. It is not a must to participate, but since you inevitably come into contact with animals, there should be a certain sympathy. Of course, we expect that everyone contributes to keeping the house in reasonable order and cleanliness, so that it stays an enjoyable place for everyone.

Our landlords and their little child (37, 34, 2) live in the house right next door. We have an open and friendly rapport and meet eachother spontaneously from time to time to exchange ideas, chat, or whatever.

Nico ist Softwareentwickler.

Wir sind eine eher ungewöhnliche Wohngemeinschaft. Durch das Leben auf dem Bauernhof gibt es immer die Möglichkeit, ein Projekt im oder außerhalb des Hauses anzustoßen oder zu beenden. Dieser Ort hat eine Menge Potenzial, wenn man bereit ist, sich zu engagieren. Im Moment ist es meist nur unsere verfügbare Zeit, die uns daran hindert, schnell voranzukommen ;) Da mehr Schultern mehr coole Projekte stemmen können, würden wir uns freuen, wenn unsere neuen Mitbewohnis auch Motivation für das eine oder andere gemeinsame Projekt mitbringen würden.

Unter der Woche sehen wir uns meist nur spontan in der Küche oder im Garten. Das hat sich bisher gut eingespielt und ist dem Umstand geschuldet, dass wir alle einen arbeitsreichen Alltag haben. Außerhalb der Arbeitszeiten treffen wir uns jedoch oft in der Küche, um zu reden, zu planen, zu kochen oder zu spielen. Wir finden, dass gemeinsame Zeit genauso wichtig ist wie ungestörte Ruhe, und hoffen, dass unsere neuen Mitbewohnis unser WG-Leben bereichern werden.

Neben unseren privaten Zimmern gibt es auch auf dem gemeinsamen Teil des Hofes zu tun. So kümmern wir uns zum Beispiel teilweise um die Hühner und haben jeden Tag frische Eier. Es ist kein Muss, sich daran zu beteiligen, aber da man unweigerlich mit Tieren in Kontakt kommt, sollte ein gewisse Sympathie vorhanden sein. Natürlich erwarten wir, dass jeder dazu beiträgt das Haus einigermaßen ordentlich und sauber zu halten, so dass es für alle ein angenehmer Ort bleibt.

Unsere Vermieter und ihr kleines Kind (37, 34, 2 Jahre) wohnen im Haus direkt nebenan. Wir haben ein offenes und freundliches Verhältnis und treffen uns ab und zu spontan, um Ideen auszutauschen, zu plaudern oder was auch immer.

We are open to all genders and nationalities. Bring your own view on the world, as long as it doesn't discriminate, restrict or hurt anyone else. From time to time you may want to kill a mosquito however.
