The room is available from 1 July. We are looking for a long term flatmate !
The room is 10m² + lofted bed ( 5m²).
A window leads onto the street, it is quiet and eastward facing. Thanks to the high location (4th floor) enough light gets in, especially in the morning. There is limited storage space in the room itself , there are three built in shelves and a long bench with storage space underneath. Additionally, in the living room there is a large built-in closet for storage and further space on other shelves in the hallway (including one just outside the room).
The room also has a large built-in desk for comfortably working at , which faces the window. Additionally, an office chair can be left in the room for you if you would like. The ceilings are high, which allows for a spacious feeling despite the lofted bed. The room is small, but totally adequate for your living needs and is cozy with all the lovely wood surfaces! For activities, hobbies, etc that need more space, we like to use our large common spaces, which you can see in the photos!

About us:
Currently in the flat is Iris, Carolina and Nathan. Iris and Nathan studied together and started the flat share together in 2018. Carolina moved in last fall and is a great addition :) We are all good friends and looking forward to welcome someone new to the flat.
A community-oriented life together is quite important for us. That means we care for each other's well being, aim for open communication and share all common tasks. We are a well-organized WG, which distributes responsibilities for things like food organization, laundry, cleaning, waste disposal , and cooking. From time to time, we like to eat together, play board games, watch movies or take bike rides together. Friends' visits are more than welcome but we don't want our flat to become the meeting-spot for all our projects and initiatives (of which we are active in many). Of course, due to the current COVID situation we rely on having clear communication, and regular update each other on expectations and agreements about what is comfortable for all regarding guests and contact with others. All that being said, we are open to discussing with you how to live together and organize our large collective living space.
In the past we have put a lot time , energy, and money into improving our common spaces, e.g. wooden tables, carpets, gymnastic, lofted bed for guests in the living room, projector, couches, bicycle repair stand, kitchen stuff, etc. Our current project is making the balcony cozy for summer (seating area, plants, etc - see photos! ), since it wasn't recently enlarged (10m2). We are happy for new creative impulses, initiatives, and ideas for how to shape the common space(s).
Iris studied Socio- Ecological Economics and Policy (SEEP) and is working as a campaigner at Attac. She likes to do Akroyoga and aerial silk acrobatics and grow plants. Nathan is doing his PhD, is active in the Degrowth community and is active in projects about food. He also loves to go on bicycle tours and play football (soccer). Carolina is currently studying her Master's (also SEEP), she enjoys horse riding in the Prater, and enjoys exploring the surroundings of Vienna by bicycle!
We are all fairly busy people (with paid and unpaid work) and active in different kinds of projects and groups. On the one hand we are able to (and enjoy) having dinner conversations about political happenings but on the other hand we don't only talk about our activism/work/etc and try to create a safe space where a feeling of 'family' is strong.
About you:
You would like to live in a community oriented shared flat, with common activities once in a while but where everyone still has his or her own life? Then, write us and tell us a bit about yourself.
