Hello you! :-)
We’re glad you’ve found us and are excited to announce that we have a room opening up in our cozy flat this June because one roomie flows to some new adventures. Beginning of June sounds quite spontaneous yes but there would also be the option to move in mid of June if it'd fit you better.
Our flat lease expires at the end of June 2025.So only (but still) one year of memories to come in the historic (this flat existed for more than one decade) Burggassencave.
The free room is located at the center of the flat, meaning that you only take a few steps out of the door to be fed Ian’s famous wake-up "Reiberdatschi" & as well enoy the cheapest rent in the flat. But is also means that there is limited sunlight with a window only towards a "Lichtschacht.” Some people like the coziness and calmness of the room, but if you’re someone who plans to be in the flat often and needs lots of direct sunlight, this is probably not the right space for you. But you can check out yourself. :)
There would be the option to take over some furniture (commode, drawer..).
Entering the flat from the hallway, you find yourself directly in the well-equiped kitchen with a table at its heart.
The living room is very roomy and full of plants. We have a beamer to watch movies, and a loft area for meditation or friends staying at our flat. The room is a shared space for any project you want to do, people you want to meet or anything that you'd like. But we do like keeping it a clean space so everyone can enjoy it and we are following the cycle of our cleaning plan.
The bathroom has a bathtub, a bidet, a sink, a washing machine. The toilet is apart from the bathroom.
It really is in the heart of the 7th district with bars, galleries, cafés and very fancy haircuts all over the place. Volkstheater metro station is around 5 minutes by foot.
It is really important for us that our new roomie can feel comfortable and at home and that we do too. The flat has been a place of a lot of joy & movement and experienced a lot of different phases throughout the past years and we are looking forward to beginning the last year of living in the flat before the lease expires. We share a lot like food, clothes, laughs, conversations and emotions.
Summer is always a time when we spend a lot of time outside the flat to enjoy the sun, swim in the danube or go for little or big trips. So flat life and interaction tends to be more flowy and less fixed. Oftenwe meet spontaneously outside the flat too, to go for a dance, hike, swim or drink
We are curious about you and excited to hear your stories. There will be a lot of room for you to shape our way of living together. <3
You will be living together with:
Mela (27) who showed us what an air-fryer is capable of even though we often stick with the good old oven. She is an actress who works on several creative projects and in the field of theater pedagogy with kids. Mela has a colorful personality and great sense of humor and has been shortlisted for the next “Fast and the Furious” movie, due to her unforgettable skills behind the wheel of a loading van. She is also known for building impressive towers with her cooked food, especially if spinach is involved.
Reka (31) is a warm-hearted explorer of life. She loves intense sports in the outdoors and is an international orienteering champion. She has cycled more kilometers inside Vienna than any of us and knows the city streets like the back of her hand! Reka encounters everything with a calm intensity and gentle kindness. She is an expert at early-morning greetings, barefoot-shoes and a lover of vegan cuisine. She is super excited about planting an avocado (that she can harvest in 10 years).
Angi (31) is the best companion for renovations in the flat. We share memories of opening fermented bottles that created hilarious splashes, installing curtains with sticks we found in the forest and rearranging the flat to make the place even more cozy. Bread is sometimes inspected for its consistency and crunchiness, and a solid collection of Knopers is always kept on hand throughout the day. The curry that Angie creates is seriously and without doubt the best one in town. You find her shaking on the dancefloors of Vienna, singing in the choir or calmly laying in her hammock at her favorite spots in nature.
Ian (28) will be in Montana over the summer months, but will return in late August. If he is not preparing smoothies, which some of us like and others don't, he has an affinity for dorkiness which has reached peaks of creativity and expression in the past. When not playing music, he loves being in the mountains and stargazing on the roof. Ian likes talking about early human history, dreams, trees, spirituality and the sounds that different animals make in different languages. What Ian doesn't like is when a dog pees on his banjo, but that has fortunately happened only once so far. ;)
