Welcome to our dream spot in a beautiful location in Amsterdam! Our house is truly a cozy home, decorated with warm colours, numerous plants, a piano, and a guitar. On the balcony, the sun shines from 08:00 to 16:00, making it a perfect spot for breakfast and coffee. During the weekends, it's ideal for socialising with friends or relaxing in the hammock on the balcony or in the mutual garden.
The house is efficiently structured, providing us with a bathtub, an additional guest room with a workspace, and a living room with an open kitchen, a large dining table, and a comfortable seating area. The kitchen is well-equipped with a steam oven, an electric oven, and a 5-burner gas stove.
Our building is situated along a typical Amsterdam canal with houseboats. It features a covered, secure bicycle storage, an elevator, and a spacious shared courtyard with a BBQ and seating for reading a book.
This apartment is located on the most vibrant street in the city – Jan Pieter Heijestraat – right in the popular Oud West. Here, you'll find plenty of trendy hotspots such as Levain et Le Vin (sourdough bakery and natural wine), Trakteren (amazing coffee), Gebrouwen door Vrouwen (craft beer brewery), Gitane (luxurious brunch and dinner), and Night Kitchen (Mediterranean shared dining). Additionally, all amenities are close by, including supermarkets (e.g., Albert Heijn), deli's (e.g., STACH), pharmacies, hairdressers, trendy clothing stores, concept stores, and healthy takeaways.
Within a short cycling distance (5 minutes) lies the famous Leidseplein (International Theater Amsterdam, pop palace Paradiso), Museumplein (Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk Museum), arthouse cinemas (e.g., Lab111, De Film- en Foodhallen), and a daily fresh food market (Ten Katestraat). If you prefer to escape the hustle and bustle, you can do so easily by walking 5 mins to the beautiful, lively Vondelpark, or by cycling 15 minutes to the Amsterdamse Bos, where you can relax and engage in sports. You'll lack nothing here!
The neighbourhood borders the famous Jordaan, and the city center of Amsterdam is just a 10-minute bike ride away. Public transportation (metro and tram) is around the corner from the apartment, and the highway (ring A10) is easily accessible within a few minutes.
We are a couple and both have found a job in Berlin from 1st of April until end of August 2024. Therefore, we are looking to either rent a place (maximum rent 2000e) or do a house swap with a Berlin appartment of at least 70m2 with 2 bedrooms, preferably in Kreuzberg/Neukolln or Prenzlauerberg.
