Neighbourhood: The building is adjacent to a lively neighbourhood with lots of restaurants, cafes and bars, particularly Simon Dach Strasse and the area around Boxhaneger Platz.

IMPORTANT: The apartment overlooks a main intersection between two busy streets. If you open the windows you can hear traffic, although it is somewhat distant since you are on a 4th floor in a very open area. With closed windows the sound of traffic is well isolated, so the apartment is peaceful and silent. However, Berlin has notoriously loud ambulances, and many turn on their emergency sirens when crossing the intersection. Unlike the normal traffic, the sirens are loud enough that some of the sound will even get through the closed sound-proof windows. This occurs at least a few times a day on a daily basis, and although it depends on the emergency and the amount of traffic, the passing sound of sirens tend to be brief and they are turned off one the ambulance has passed the intersection. Although we don’t find any of this to be a major disturbance, it is mentioned for the sake of transparency. Please only contact us if you are sure you won’t be bothered by it and you are ok with some city noise, especially when you open the windows.
