The ESG hall of residence is a private, recently renovated hall of residence that is modern, super clean and cosy. My room is on the second floor and is part of a friendly group of 20 rooms in total, which I share with 17 women and 3 boys aged between 20 and 25. You have a large shared kitchen with a fridge, an oven, a microwave, a toaster and a cooker.
You will have your own toilet and shower in your room, which has been recently refurbished and which I keep extra clean - I would love for you to do the same! The residence also offers great facilities including washing machines, tumble dryers and freezers in the basement.
The room is fully furnished and feels bright and airy thanks to a large window overlooking the green Human Rights Park. It has two shelves, a large wardrobe, a desk, a chair and a bed with mattress. The walls and door are well soundproofed and provide a quiet environment perfect for studying or relaxing. You also have access to two seminar rooms in the basement, perfect for studying or film nights with the video projector and speakers!
In addition to your room, the ESG has a café and a large hall where parties and social events are often held - great places to meet residents from other floors.
This temporary stay gives you the time and peace of mind to settle into Cologne and potentially apply for a long-term contract at ESG, where you can stay for up to 4 years. It's a fantastic, international community to be part of!
The hall of residence is very centrally located. The University of Cologne, the canteen and the library are less than a 10-minute walk away, so you have everything you need close by.
Bus lines 136 and 146 and tram lines 1, 7 and 9 will take you directly to Neumarkt or the main railway station. If you fancy a stroll, you can reach the city centre in just 20 minutes on foot.
Aldi is only a 3-minute walk away, and Rewe is just around the corner. A great location for student life as everything is within easy reach.
Hi, I'm Kawe and I'm looking for someone to sublet my room in the ESG student hall of residence. I have lived here for 3 years, but as I have finished my studies, I am moving out. My contract runs until the end of March 2025, so the sublet would be from the end of December/beginning of January until the end of March.
The prerequisite is that you have student status. After this period, you can apply for a room at ESG, and temporary subtenants often have a higher chance of having their application approved - this has been the case for many residents here.
