Please read the first paragraph carefully and make sure you’re okay with the conditions before sending a request.
My room in a 5-person WG at Friesenplatz is available for long-term rent as follows:
Sublease: From 1st of February (01.02.2025) to 1st of March (01.03.2025).
Long-term lease takeover: Starting first of March 01.03.2025, you will take over my part of the contract for a minimum of one year (as requested by the landlord). The landlord is specifically looking for someone who plans to stay for at least one year or longer and this is a part of the long term contract, so please only apply if this fits your plans.
In February, you will sublet the room directly from me. A sublease agreement will be signed, and you’ll pay both the rent and a deposit to me. From March onward, you’ll receive the deposit back from me and transfer it to the landlord as required by the long-term contract. Rent and electricity payments will be sent to Arian, who collects and forwards them to the landlord. Rent is always paid in advance for the coming month, while electricity is paid retrospectively. For example, electricity for February is paid at the beginning of March.
The room is spacious and bright with high ceilings and large windows. It is rented furnished, which includes:
A 140x200 cm bed with a mattress.
Three shelves and cupboards.
A TV and window curtains.
A wardrobe ( A small IKEA one which is not the one in the photo, this is mine and you can take it for €50 if you like).
A big desk.
The flat is located in a central and vibrant area of Cologne, ideal for those who enjoy city living.
Transport: A 5-minute walk to tram lines 3, 4, 5, 12, and 15.
Shopping: Rewe, Aldi, Alnatura, and dm are all within a 5-minute walk.
Stadtgarten is just one street away, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafés in the area.
The apartment is on the 3rd floor and includes:
Bathrooms: Two toilets, one shower, and a bathroom with a bathtub—making it practical for 5 people.
Kitchen: Two fridges, a dishwasher, an oven, and a microwave.
Laundry: Two washing machines and two dryers in the building’s basement.
You will share the flat with:
Johannes: A PhD student in Philosophy of Science.
Arian: A Business and Marketing student (also responsible for collecting rent).
Metin: A law student working in the same field.
Fernanda: A Dentistry student, whom you’ll likely see the most. She is warm, welcoming, and enjoys occasional chats or cooking together when time allows.
