My husband (60) and I (58) live in a large house in Broich and rent out this beautiful, furnished room. We have always rented out this room, but now it will soon be vacant again. Currently, we have another lodger, a 50-year-old woman. My husband is British and doesn't speak German well. He is no longer working and takes care of the household. I am from Mülheim and work as a teacher. The children have moved out.
My husband and I have always lived in shared flats or with lodgers or au pairs, so we are accustomed to living with other residents.

We live in Broich in a quiet side street. There is a tram stop for line 901 (3 stops to Mülheim Central Station) in very close proximity, as well as supermarkets and other shops. The forest and the Ruhr river are within walking distance. Duisburg and Oberhausen are also easily accessible by bus and train.
We only accept female candidates. You should have a regular job, no students!
We are quite relaxed but some rules should be followed, e.g. there is a rotating cleaning plan for everyone.
What's important: your nationality does not matter, but you should speak English reasonably well to be able to communicate with my husband!
If you meet all the criteria, we will be happy to invite you to get aquainted and have a look at the house and the room.

This bright, quiet room is on the 1st floor overlooking the garden. It is fully furnished with a queen-size bed, wardrobe, sofa, and bookshelf. We share the shower room on the ground floor and the kitchen. The washing machine is located in the cellar, which you can also use. Wi-Fi is available, of course. There is parking space for a car or bicycle in the driveway of the house.
It's a huge house so we won't be much in each other's way.
All costs are included in the rent since it's too complicated to split the costs up, therefore you should not be wasteful with water, heat and electricity.
