***German below***
Dear people, with a twinkling tear in my eye I am writing this annonce... The time has really passed fast since I moved into this lovely shared. But since then, life has moved on and I find myself going abroad. Thus it is YOUR CHANCE to get a slice of paradise and move into this one-of-a-kind flat!
About you: we are searching for a person that would stay long-term and would fit in well with us!
My room is the biggest in the WG and you might be asking for what do you need all this space for? As you can see in the pictures, I use it to house my beloved bicycles and their workshop, a pull-up rack with gymnastic rings, and much more. Even with the bed foulded out to its lavish 1,80m width of pure dreamy (or steamy) bliss, there is still enough space for two people to do yoga on the floor. Also, my room had the honor to serve as the dancefloor on our legendary WG parties. All in all, the room is perfect for those who want to have some space apart from the colourful flat life, to work on their own projects or just have some space to breathe and thrive.
The room also is the brightest in this WG, sporting three windows, two of which go to a dead end street, meaning that the it is super quiet outside and you can even sleep with an open window and awaken to the sound of the birds nearby (they live in the park of the french Lycée just next to our house). And before you ask, that glittering thing really is a silver rescue blanket that I have wrapped around my heater for art reasons (since then removed). But now to the interesting stuff: what will you get for your money?
First of all, I am leaving all of the furniture behind. This includes: a bed that can be either a single or a double depending on your current relationship status; a big leather armchair including a small book table; an ikea foldeable couch thats admittedly a bit broken (not on pictures); a big wardrobe with a mirror; a self-built bookcase; also an self-built shabby chique style gigantic white desk, with a white drawer beneath; a desklamp and a reading lamp; aand the abovementioned pull up rack. I would also leave behind all the bedsheets and co. - so basically everything is ready for you to move in! In terms of what will go with me, I am still debating on taking or leaving my comfy swivel chair (we can talk about it); but I am most likely taking my plants and my posters with me - except that GIGANTIC 2m wide world map. It is a bit overkill but I hope you like it.
As I salesmanlike wrote in the title, this WG has a supreme location if you are a student of the Hauptuni. I usually leave home 5min before lecture starts by bike and always get there in time, but you can also choose to walk and this also takes only around 10 min. However also if you study at the TU, it is only 15 min by bike, and the ring road is quite close from where you get to pretty much any place within the inner city. The danube-canal is quite near, where I usually like to go for a walk, however also Liechtensteinpark, Votivpark as well as the old AKH campus offer some great green spaces nearby. To the Danube it is only 20min by bike as well! Also, if you like going out and clubbing, you will find that a lot of cool locations are really close.
At the Bauernfeldplatz, only 2 min from the WG, you will find the Bus 40A, as well as the tram line D. Also, we are located right between metro lines U2 (Schottentor) and U4 (Rossauer Lände) and to reach either of those it is also 5-10 minutes by foot.
Our shared flat is quite large and despite lots of people asking how long we have to wait for a shower with only one in the house and seven people, it rarely ever happens that you have to wait. We have two toilets (one of which looks like in a club but is cleaner), a washing room as well as two storage spaces. Our kitchen sports two fridges and more than enough of storage for everyone. The heart of our WG, the cozy living room, is where we meet for sharing meals, coffees and other nice things! We speak english as well as german to each other.
We are a WG that truly values our time spent together and therefore it is very important for us that you will fit well into our lovely bunch of people. We spend a lot of time together doing various activities like cooking, drinking, partying, drinking, doing sports, hanging out at the Danube, or just having a cozy evening in front of our Beamer setup. I will now take some time to introduce each of us in short, since - despite being seven people - this WG is not anonymous as some of the other housing options (dorms) might be.
Pauline is from the Netherlands, though with half of her family coming from a small village in lower Austria. She studies philosophy and works at a legendary "Würstelstand" (you will see) where she is notorious for staying 2 hours after her shift ended just to clean the whole place up like its her life mission. In her freetime she likes to sing and play instruments, jamming from time to time with friends.
Paula (not to be confused with Pauline) who comes from the beautiful city of Granada in Spain (seriously, why are you not moving to there instead of Vienna??) is our flat-own "Dr. Greenthumb". She has a love for everything plants and nature, having previously studied Botany and now finishing her Master's in environmental science at the BOKU. She is an outgoing person, part-time DJ and always cheerful!
Elias, who fled from the black forest in southern Germany in order to escape the horrendous dialect spoken there, is the kind of person who went to the WG casting with a bottle of wine - and sure as that he was accepted (you can learn from that ;)) Even though most people in our flat are quite the creative types I consider Elias as probably the one most interested in culture and stuff, as he is every week on some sort of concert, museum, or exhibition. He is studying architecture at TU, currently planning a redesign of a whole village square.
Joep, also from the Netherlands is a super fun guy who always is up for a game of darts, chess, volleyball, or anything wherever he can either stomp his oponent or make a fool out of himself. He is the kind of person who can go from telling a wild story of how he just encountered Justin Timberlake in a bar and beat him at a game of Billards, to telling you the deep meaning of life on this planet and then to some weird economic maths within 1 minute. He just came back from a 3 month trip to south America and sailing back from there - so there are still some stories to be told!
Muska is from Nuremberg, Germany but also with international roots, has just returned to the flat when you will move in. Whether it is her sweet baking skills, her costly but beatiful flower-buying-addiction, or just her warm and loving manner - she makes the flat feel like a real home. She is also quite the cultured woman attending lots of classical concerts, where she sometimes even gets free tickets from our 80 year old upstairs neighbor who also cuts her hair. She is studying a masters in political science at the Hauptuni.
And last but not least we have Pablo, who grew up in Vienna and now has returned after spending the last years in Denmark, learning organic gardening and regenerative agriculture. While I called Paula "Dr Greenthumb", Pablo might take that title as well since he is literally working growing vegetables in a city farm in Augarten. He is the newest addition to our flat but makes you feel right at home with his calm nature.
Soo, I hope I have not forgotten anything important but if you have more questions or just want to reach out, feel free to shoot me a message. We are ready to have a talk with you in approximately one or two weeks - whether it will be online or in person. But please, put in some effort in your message and say a little bit something about yourself, what is important for you when it comes to living together in a shared flat, or why it is that you would like to live with us :) as said before, we are not a Zweck-WG and thus we would like you to really fit in with us. Sooo, theres only left to say hopefully see you soon!

Lage:
