Hi, I'm Andrew (32 yrs old). I'm writing my PhD in cultural musicology at the moment. I am from Guam, Micronesia and have been living in Germany for about 2yrs already. I really cannot stress enough on how spacious the room is. The room that is available come late October is about c. 20 sqm. and is situated along side the road. Naturally, this means you will hear things from the room but the wonderful tradeoff is that it has 4 windows (two large ones and two smaller ones above them). They will fill the room with natural sunlight and frische luft/fresh air (very serious thing in Germany) which is very nice (unless you are a vampire or some creature of the night which I hear is quite common here, which in that case may present some problems, to combat this, I have some blackout blinds and thick curtains in that case!).There are some lamps, a couch and so other furniture in the room already. We can discuss what you might want to use but I do intend to remove some things such as the mirror. The whole flat is about 79 sqm flat. You'll of course have access to the kitchen and bathroom. I have a washer machine that also has a drying feature, you will be able to use it as well. We ask that the room as well as the rest of the flat stays a nonsmoking flat.
The apartment is conveniently situated in Britzer Damm Street, in Neukölln district. The flat has a bus stop literally a short walk away like the 170, but I usually take the M44 which will take you to Hermannstraße S-bahn and U-bahn for all major connections. There's also the U7 Blaschkoallee stop that's a 10min walk from the flat. We're minutes away by foot to the grocery stores Edeka, kik, Penny, Rossman, and right next to a tasty Lebanese falafel/schwarma eatery (delicious and affordable). There's also a restaurant right across that sales delicious whole chickens yumm. A good thing to know is the Britzer Garten is a couple of bus stops away too! The flat is well maintained and in residential area, but still very accessible and connected to bustling Neukölln with great restaurant and cafe options.
The flat should be a nice, comfortable, and peaceful place for us to unwind or, to do some serious work (on our laptops and whatnot). I'm down to earth and pretty easey going, but it goes without saying that we should respect each other's personal space. At the same time, we shouldn't be total strangers, we should have a nice everyday living relationship. I am very much interested in casual hangouts, up for checking out what's going on in Berlin etc. when I have the time. We can certainly host friends but it is nice to let each other know beforehand :). What I look for in a roommate(s) is someone that can do their part in keeping the communal places (kitchen and bathroom) nice and tidy. I don't necessarily have a cleaning schedule, but if it helps we can come up with one. It would be a big plus if the potential roommate speaks German and potentially be interested in casually conversing so I can improve myself. No pressure though.
If you have any further inquiries, or want to visit the room, just message me via whatsapp or sms. ----/-------
