Hi! Welcome to the mouse apartment :) (Don't worry, no real mice to be found here, it's too far up for that.)
I am looking for a flatmate in my cozy little apartment close to the Charlottenburg Schloss.
The room is not very big (~9m²) but has a LOT of light because it has a skylight (is that the right translation for Dachfenster??) as well as a random little window on the bottom of the wall which seems to have no real purpose other than spying on the neighbors. The floor is laminate in case that matters.
The whole apartment is quite small and gets quite hot in the summer (Dachgeschoss diesdas) BUT it has a balcony which is a true highlight and it also has wooden beams which are very charming :)
When you hear Charlottenburg, you may think if rich and boring people with little dogs, and while you may encounter them during a sunday walk in the Charlottenburg Schloss park (which is super close and absolutely beautiful by the way), this part of Charlottenburg is called the Klausener Kiez and it has a very relaxed crowd. Not as cool as Kreuzberg and Neukölln, but very laid back and family friendly. There is also a secret goat place that I'll be happy to show you :)
There are plenty of supermarkets and organic stores in walking distance, as well as cute cafés and for some reason a ridiculous amount of ice cream parlors.
In case you like running, the apartment is pretty much in the middle between the Schloßpark and Lietzenseepark.
The closest public transport would be the U2, U7 and Ringbahn, as well as a couple of buses that go to Bahnhof Zoo.
You're gonna be living with me, Maitri (she/her) :)
I am 26 years old and originally from Cologne but came to Berlin about 2 years ago for my job, which is doing event communication for a meditation center. Before that, I spent 4 years in Nepal, studying Buddhist philosophy.
I would say I'm somewhat of a random mix of cologne carneval, feminism, climate anxiety, your mom jokes, starting hobbies and never pursuing them, spirituality and philosophy, secondhand shop addiction, pistachio ice cream, TikTok and believing in astrology ironically until it's no longer ironic...
I will move out at the end of September though and set off to new adventures. That means that you could find yourself a new roommate after that or just keep the flat to yourself :)
My last roommate who is now moving out was also my colleague and bestie so we spent A LOT of time together, but you won't have to do that :D I'm happy to hang out on the balcony, cook together sometimes, visit the goats or have a beer in the park and talk about life, death and the universe :) Sometimes I am also kind of an introvert though so I do need my share of me-time as well.
I work 4 days a week (Tuesday to Friday) and would love to live with someone who has a similar lifestyle, meaning no loud late drunk homecomings during the week. (At least not on a regular basis ;))
I do have a little bias towards sharing the flat with another FLINTA*, but I'm not completely set on that either!
The rent for the room is 450€ and includes everything (also GEZ and internet). We each have our own contract.
The deposit is 900€ and the landlord will need a SCHUFA (jetzt beantragen) and some sort of statement of earnings.
It's free from June 1 but could potentially be rented from June 15 as well, we'd have to talk about that.
As I said above, I will only be staying here for another 4 months (until end of September) so you can find a new flatmate after that or just keep it for yourself.
If you're interested, please write me some things about yourself, why you could see the two of us living together, and your favorite yo mama joke OR ice cream flavor so I know you've read until here :) I'm very much looking forward to meeting you!
(Ich kann natürlich auch Deutsch, also kannst du mir auch gerne auf Deutsch schreiben!)
