Hello there :)
Are you looking for a room in a shared apartment from 01.08.2024, to 15.03.2025? Then you’re in the right place, because I am subletting my two furnished rooms in our 120 sqm old-style palace in Steglitz while I'm on my Erasmus stay!
First things first: We are looking for a FLINTA person for two connected rooms (38 sqm) for €695 all-inclusive. The special feature is that both rooms are occasionally passed through by my roommate Eunkyung. So, they are walk-through rooms. We're totally fine with it, and it’s really not a big deal, but you should be open to this kind of living situation. Does that sound good to you? Then feel free to keep reading :)
More info about the apartment and the location:
You would have two connected rooms as your domain. The smaller room is about 15 sqm, the larger one about 23 sqm, so you’d be living in 38 sqm. The rent is €695 including all utilities (even GEZ and Internet). The deposit is €500. You would get a sublease contract and can legally register with the city.
Both rooms are connected to the living room, lie behind each other, and are connected by large double doors. Lastly (as the third in the row) is Eunkyung’s room. So, all three are walk-through rooms. Johanna’s room is separate. Don’t be put off! It might seem unusual at first, but we’ve found that it works very well. It helps if you’re a somewhat deep sleeper and aren’t bothered when Eunkyung passes through your room.
We also have a really large and beautiful living room where you can watch movies, lounge, eat together, etc., a small kitchen (with a dishwasher!), and a small bathroom with a shower-bathtub and washing machine.
Our apartment is very close to Rathaus Steglitz. It’s really livable here, and you can quickly get to Wilmersdorf, Schöneberg, and Neukölln. We’re well-connected to public transport. It’s a two-minute walk to the S-Bahn (S1), which reliably takes you to Schöneberg and the Ringbahn in 5 minutes, and a five-minute walk to the U9 towards Wedding. There are also tons of bus stops nearby - if you prefer buses to trains like I do :D
Right outside the door, you’ll find everything you need for daily life: a Denns, Eurogida, Aldi, Lidl, Edeka, a charming elderly couple for the post office, and many more shops on Schlossstraße.
A few words about me and your new roommates:
I, Sarah, am 26 years old and will be escaping the grey, cold German winter to do an Erasmus in Barcelona :) I’m studying Psychology in my Master’s at FU and want to take the opportunity to go abroad before I graduate. Since I will be returning to Berlin and the WG after my stay abroad, I will sublet my two rooms furnished. Furnished means: a super comfy bed, a small (sleep) sofa, a desk, some shelves and drawers, and an open wardrobe. I will have to leave some things here, but I’ll store them well so you can still make yourself at home! I am looking for someone who will respect my things and regularly water my plants <3 We can talk about the exact rental period and possibly adjust it by a week or two.
Eunkyung is 37 and works as a videographer. She works a lot from home and sometimes shoots videos for her YouTube channel. But don’t worry, you won’t be disturbed by loud noises. She is from Korea and loves trying out new recipes - feel free to try her Korean dishes. Eunkyung also works as a camera operator and has excellent ninja-walking skills, which fits well with our room situation :D
Johanna will also be moving out on August 1 and subletting her room. So if you want to move in with a friend, let us know! :)
That’s it from us for now. We’ll tell you everything else if you want to get to know us in person. We look forward to your message. Please mention in your message how you feel about the walk-through room situation :)
Best regards,
Sarah, Johanna, and Eunkyung
